Development Status,Problems And Advice Of Chinese Watermelon And Melon Cultivation Pattern In China

Both watermelon and melon are rich in nutrients,juicy and refreshing,and have a short cultivation period,low cultivation threshold and significant planting benefits.China has a vast territory with large spans from north to south.The continental monsoon climate is remarkable,and there are obvious seasonal changes,which are suitable for melon cultivation.In recent years,China’s western melon industry has developed rapidly.For nearly 40 years,the watermelon and melon industry has already played a pivotal role in the production of China’s economic crops,and has made an increasingly important contribution to increasing farmers’ income and meeting the people’s growing material needs.However,with the rapid development,it will inevitably bring some problems in regulation and production.Through interviews and data query,our research summarizes the cultivation model overview,yield overview and cultivation model of the five major melons in China.It is concluded that the current western melon industry in China is in a state of steady growth.Although the cultivation mode is diverse,the proportion is not balanced,and it is still mainly based on open field cultivation.And summed up the typical or unique cultivation mode of each production area.And through the analysis of the current cultivation status of melon industry,it is concluded that there are still some main varieties in China,and the main varieties are slow to change,and the matching is unreasonable;the development of factory seedlings is lagging,the cultivation of seedlings is too much;the irrigation method is backward,the water and fertilizer are matched.Unreasonable;land constraints are becoming more and more serious;product time-to-market is too concentrated;and according to the current situation,the cultivation mode of China’s western melons’ superior production areas is proposed to accelerate the promotion of new varieties and new technologies at the grassroots level;support and establish a typical seedling plant;the policy promotes the development of the integration process of water and fertilizer;develops a variety of cultivation models,balances the proportion of each cultivation mode,and makes a series of reference recommendations for relatively average cultivation,so that the industry can develop benign.
