The Effects Of Green Tea Waste On Performance,Rumen Fermentation,Nutrient Digestion And Blood Parameters In Sheep | | Posted on:2020-02-03 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Institution:University | Candidate:NZEYIMANA JEAN BOSCO | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2393330578463182 | Subject:Animal Nutrition and Feed Science | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | An experiment was conducted to determine the effects of green tea waste on performance,rumen fermentation,blood parameters and nutrient digestion in Sheep.Growing male Healthy Hu Sheep(n=64),3months old,average weight 23.41±2.42kg,were used in this experiment.The dietary systems were:G0%Control(Concentrate supplements with 0%Green tea waste);G5%(concentrate supplements with 5%Green tea waste);G10%(concentrate supplements with 10%Green tea waste)and G20%(concentrate supplements with 20%Green tea waste).The DMI variation was greater in G5%than GO%(P<0.001),no significant difference between G10%and G20%compared with GO%.The G5%and G10%showed a high DMI than control,however,Sheep in G20%showed a lower DMI than control but not to a significant degree(P>0.05).For average daily gain(ADG),the G5%group showed a significant difference(P=0.010)compared to the GO%,and the latter compared to the other groups,no significant difference was observed(P=0.465 and p=0.903 respectively for G10%and G20%).The observed FCR(kg feed dry matter intake per kg live mass gain)are 5.2;4.92;5.35 and 5.79 for groups GO%,G5%,G10%and G20%respectively.No significant difference was observed between the different groups during the experiment.Ruminal fluid pH did not show any significant difference between the different groups during the experiment,a slight VFA increase is observed when the dose of GTW increases without any significant difference.The same phenomenon is observed for NH3-N where the ammonia has a tendency to increase according to the level of the GTW while remaining inferior to the results of the group control and without significant different.No significant effect of GTW supplementation was detected on plasma immune parameters(TNF-α,BHBA,IgA,IgG,IgM,IL-2,IL-4,and IL-4)between different groups.As to the effect of GTW on plasma metabolic parameters,a significant difference was observed between G10%and G20%on TP,between G5%and G10%compared to GO%on ALB(P<0.05).No significant difference was observed in the different groups on GLOB,GLUT and TG(P>0.05).However,a significant difference was observed between G5%compared to GO%on LDL-C;G20%compared to GO%on HDL-C;G20%compared to G5%and G10%on NEFA;G5%compared to GO%on TC and GO%compared to G20%on UREA.According to the results,GTW up to 10%in the concentrate supplements of TMR diet of Hu Sheep can improve sheep performance production by improving growth performance,dry matter intake and average daily gain.For the rumen fermentation and nutrient digestion parameters,VFA show a high performance when GTW level is increasing in concentrate supplement and still less than results observed in control group,however,ammonia and plasma metabolic parameters are improved up 10%of GTW show high performance at 10%of GTW in concentrate supplement. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Green tea waste, Hu sheep, Growth performance, blood parameters, Rumen fermentation | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
