In order to solve the problems of heavy saline-alkaline and serious obstacle to continuous strawberry of greenhouse soil in southern Xinjiang,a mixed cultivation substrate of local coarse sand and glycyrrhiza residue were exploited with the strawberry variety"sweet Charlie"as the test material.Compared with coarse sand substrate,the volume ratio of 17%,25%,50%of glycyrrhiza residue were added to the coarse sand respectively to forming mixed substrate.The physical and chemical properties and the effects on strawberry growth,yield and quality of different kinds of mixed substrate were studied by 2 cultivation mode inclouding facilities embedded pipes and potted,then a suitable strawberry soilless culture substrate were exploited in southern Xinjiang.At last a set of cultivation system of mixed sand substrate for facility strawberry was designed and used in southern Xinjiang,which provide theoretical basis and technical support for the production of strawberry.The main research results are as follows:?1?The physical and chemical properties of the mixed substrate were significantly improved.With the increase of glycyrrhiza residue in the mixed substrate,the bulk density of the substrate decreased,while the total porosity,water-holding porosity and aerated porosity increased significantly.?2?The stem diameter,plant height and leaf area of potted strawberry were increased and the growth of root length and fibrous roots were promoted on the mixed substrate?T2?of 75%coarse sand with 25%glycyrrhiza residue,the photosynthesis and chlorophyll content of strawberry leaves were promoted as well.?3?The growth of stems,plants and leaves of strawberry cultivated in pipelines were promoted and total yield and per plant yield were increased on the mixed substrate?T2?of 75%coarse sand with 25%glycyrrhiza residue?This is the best mixed substrate for soilless cultivation in strawberry.While in the condition of mixed substrate of 50%coarse sand with 50%glycyrrhiza residue?T3?,the content of soluble sugar,soluble solids and the ratio of sugar to acid of strawberry fruit were increased and the quality were improved.?4?This study developed a set of low-cost facility strawberry sand culture system which is suitable for southern Xinjiang and used to practical production combining with the local resource advantages.The system consists of six components:75%coarse sand mixed with 25%glycyrrhiza residue substrate,design of cultivation troughs for ridging from flat ground,design of nutrient solution tank,management of nutrient solution preparation and cultivation technology of strawberry with facility sand culture.The application of this system simplifies the management of cultivation,reduces the cost and improves the yield and quality in strawberry.
