Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.is a perennial herbaceous plant of Gramineae.It can overwinter in open field in northern China.It has extensive management,rapid growth and beautiful plant type.It is an ornamental grass with potential application in northern China.Because of the cold climate in North China,especially in Northeast China,there are few resources available for landscape greening,so Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.as ornamental grass resources in North China has a very good development prospect.Therefore,it is necessary to explore the biological habits of Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin..At present,there are few studies on Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.,and there are no reports on the actual growth of Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.in Northeast China.In order to enable Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.to be more widely and scientifically applied to the landscape construction of northern cities,it is more necessary to explore the biological habits of Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.,and provide theoretical basis and technical guidance for the production and application of Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin..In this experiment,Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.was used as test material to investigate its growth characteristics and adaptability to different growth environments,and to preliminarily explore its flowering and fruiting conditions under natural growth conditions,so as to provide theoretical reference and practical guidance for Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.'s production and gardening application.The main results are as follows:(1)Phenology and growth characteristics of Northeast China: Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.'s turning green time in Harbin is about early May.About 10 days later,it entered the rapid growth period,lasted about a week,and then entered the booting stage.The longer the cultivation time,the faster the growth of the plant in the growing period,and the earlier the flowering and seed stage come.Population A cultivated for more than three years entered the flowering stage in the first ten days of July,about 15 days earlier than the plants cultivated for two years,and about 55 days earlier than the plants cultivated in that year.Flowering duration of Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.lasted about 50 days.The flowering period ended and the fruiting period ended in mid-November.After that,Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.went into dormancy until the next year.(2)Diversity of Flower Morphology: Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.'s inflorescence is panicle,evacuated,branches are nearly whorled;spikes are yellow and purple,and the inflorescence color of the same plant is the same.Comparing with the description of Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.in Chinese flora,it is found for the first time that the mature anthers of Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.have different colors,which can be roughly divided into purple,light yellow and orange.(3)In the aspect of fruit quality:The more years of growth,the fuller the seeds,the better the seed setting.However,regardless of the growth years,the seed germination rate of Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.harvested in that year can reach more than 90%.Storing seeds of Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.at 22 ? after harvest can accelerate seed maturation faster than that at 4 ?.(4)Suitable soil conditions: Compared with the five common soil matrices in Harbin,under the same conditions,the seed germination rate of Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.was higher in peat soil and sandy soil,while the seedlings grew better in Loess clay,black clay and peat soil.(5)The saline environment adaptability of seed germination of the saline environment of Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.has a significant negative impact:Saline-alkali stress had a significant negative effect on Seed Germination of Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin..The degree of influence was as follows: saline-alkali mixing > Salt > alkali.In saline alkali environment Spodiopogon sibiricus seedling height,root length and volume growth were lower than those of non training control group using saline treatment,after the treatment of seedling leaf color color is deeper.(6)Appropriate cultivation and management methods: In the production of Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.,artificial breeding should be the main method.The temperature is higher,and the environment with sufficient light and water is favorable for seed germination of Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin..Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.There is no special requirement for soil,but it should be carefully selected in saline-alkali soil greening.Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.planted in the field does not need additional water,but gives sufficient water during the growing period,and the plants of big oil awn grow faster.Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.has good adaptability in Harbin,and its potential application in gardens in northern China needs to be further developed.Therefore,the biological characteristics of Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin.can be further studied.
