Identification Of Pathogens Of Six Fungal Diseases Of Flowers In Guangzhou

In the past ten years,China's flower industry has made tremendous progress and development,the flower planting area and the varieties are gradually becameing more and more.With the flower industry' booming,flower pests and diseases occurred increasingly serious one after another,and caused different degrees of damage to flowers.Guangzhou is important flower production area in our country,but the pathogens of some flower diseases are not completely clear.Therefore,it is important to know the pathogen types for prevention and control of flower diseases.In this study,6 kinds of common ornamental plants with disease spot were collected from Guangzhou area,according to the Koch's postulate,the pathogens of following six kinds of flower diseases were identified through isolation,purification,pathogenicity determination,morphological and molecular characteristics.The results are as following:The pathogenic fungi of Aeschynanthus pulcher leaf spot,Arrhenatherum elatius leaf spot,Catharanthus roseus anthracnose and Stromanthe sanguinea anthracnose were Corynespora cassiicola,Fusarium oxysporum,Colletotrichum truncatum and Colletotrichum siamense,respectively.The pathogenic fungus of Iris tectorum root rot was the member of Diaporthe fraxini-angustifoliae species complex,the pathogenic fungus of Dieffenbachia picta leaf spot belonged to a species of fungal genus Colletotrichum.These flower diseases and their pathogens were reported at the first time in chima.
