| Yellow-feathered broilers are widely distributed in East and Southeast of China.Compared with white-feathered broilers, they are small in size, slow growth rate, and sensitive to the external environment. The absorption and metabolism of the same additives may also be different in this body.Meanwhile,yellow-feathered broiler has a large amount of slaughter, which has reached or exceeded half of the broiler’s slaughter. However, there are few reports on its anti-heat stress additives. So it is important to study some additives that could relieve heat stress on actual production. Therefore, this experiment selected several additives such as arginine,γ-aminobutyric acid, organic chromium and selenium which exert effective anti-heat stress effects on other animals, and studied their effects on yellow-feathered broilers exposed to heat stress.Experiment 1: This experiment studied the effects of arginine on yellow-feathered broilers exposed to heat stress.240 35-day-old male yellow-feathered broilers were selected and separated into 4 groups with 6 replicates with 10 birds, which according to 2*2 factors(temperature and arginine). This groups included normal temperature group(basal diets),normal temperature + arginine group(added 0.6% Arg into basal diets),heat stress group, heat stress + arginine group(added 0.6% Arg into basal diets). After giving experimental diets on 7 days,7 days of heat stress were given. Results showed that heat stress improved the body temperature, breathing rate and F/G significantly(P<0.05),while decreased ADFI,ADG and the activities of antioxidant enzymes in yellow-feathered broilers(P<0.05).There were no significant effects on body temperature, breathing rate,ADFI,ADG,F/G and the activities of antioxidant enzymes after giving 0.6% arginine to yellow-feathered broilers(P>0.05).In summary, heat stress significantly reduced the growth performance and antioxidant function of yellow-feathered broilers, while 0.6% arginine showed no effects on growth performance in yellow-feathered broilers, only found that it increased the antioxidant function of the body to a certain extent.Experiment 2: This experiment studied the effects of N-carmine glutamic acid(NCG)on yellow-feathered broilers exposed to heat stress.270 1-day-old male yellow-feathered broilers were selected and randomly divided into control group, the pre-addition group(1-18 d,added at 0.1%)and the whole addition group(1-49 d,added at 0.1%),with 6 replicates with 15 birds.Weight at 36 d,and adjusted at 10 birds per pen, which according to the average weight of per replicate. Then gave heat stress at 35℃ and lasted for 14 d.Results showed that nosignificant effects on body temperature, breathing rate,ADG,ADFI,F/G,meat quality, the relative weight of organs and the activities of some antioxidant enzymes between the control group and the whole addition group(P>0.05),there also had no significant effects between the control group and the pre-addition group(P>0.05),which indicated that adding 0.1%NCG to the diets failed to alleviate the growth performance, organ development and antioxidant function of yellow-feathered broilers exposed to heat stress.Experiment 3: This experiment studied the effects of GABA,organic chromium and selenium on yellow-feathered broilers exposed to heat stress.240 35-day-old male yellowfeathered broilers were selected and separated into 4 groups with 6 replicates with 10 birds, which included control group(basal diets),GABA group(added 100mg/kg GABA into basal diets),chromium picolinate group(added 1.20mg/kg organic chromium),sodium selenite group(added 0.30mg/kg selenium). After giving experimental diets on 7 days,14 days of heat stress were given at 35℃.Results showed that 100mg/kg GABA,1.20mg/kg organic chromium and 0.30mg/kg selenium can significantly increase BW,ADG and ADFI(P<0.05),while reduce F/G,the activities of some enzymes that reflected organ damage and antioxidant function significantly(P<0.05),selenium also increased the relative weight of immune organs and villus height of intestine(P<0.05).In conclusion,100mg/kg GABA,1.20mg/kg organic chromium and 0.30mg/kg selenium can improve growth performance, immune and antioxidant function,as well as protecting intestine health in yellow-feathered broilers exposed to heat-stressed conditions. |
