The unique nutritional value of turkeys is gaining popularity in the domestic market. In the present,wired-floor system was used widely, which have lot of disadvantages. As we known, the used of the system in broiler has achieved effectiveness. Therefore,we wanted to explore the possible of cage system used in Turkey, and the meat quality of Turkey during the frozen,to provide a theoretical basis for the production of turkeys.Experiment 1:the aim of the experiment was conducted to growth law of Turkey. At 1 day of age,120 Turkey were selected from 150 birds according to the average body weight and randomly allotted to one of 10 replicate cages of 12 birds per cage in a completely randomized design.Birds were fed with commercial diet. The experimental period is 8 weeks. The results showed that as the increase of age,the average feed intake, average daily gain and body weight of Turkey increased gradually. As the increase of age The absolute weight gain of week is increased quadratically(y = 23.189x-0.2871,R2 = 0.9822).and the relative growth rate increased exponentially(y = 0.6747x0.418,R2 =0.9594),In summary,as the increase of age,the absolute weight gain of Bettina Turkey increased gradually, but its relative weight gain reduced gradually.Experiment 2:the aim of the present study was conducted to compare the deficiency in growth performance of Bettina Turkey raised in cage system and wired-floor system. At 1 day of age,60 Turkey were selected from 100 birds according to the average body weight and randomly allotted to one of 10 replicate cages of 5 birds per cage in a completely randomized design..Another 60 Turkey was raised in wired-floor.The results showed that as the increase of age,the growth performance Turkey raised in cage system and wired-floor system increased gradually. The feed intake, average weight gain, body weight, and the feed to gain ratio of Turkey raised in cage system were lower than that in wired-floor system. In summary, cage system could reduce the feed intake of Bettina Turkey,so cage system can be used in the production of Bettina Turkey.Experiment 3:the aim of the present study was conducted to determine the effects of stocking density on growth performance of Bettina Turkey. At 1 day of age,96 Turkey were selected from 120 birds according to the average body weight and randomly allotted to one of two treatments with 4 replicate cages of 12 birds per cage in a completely randomized design.Birds were raised in two stocking density(7 or 8 birds/m2).The results showed that the feed intake and feed to gain ratio of Turkey raised in 7 birds/m2 was lower than that in 8 birds/m2,but the weight gain he body weight was higher than that in 8 birds/m2.Therefore,low stocking density could reduce the feed intake.Experiment 4:the aim of the present study was conducted to determine the effects of frozen storage on protein, fat, collagen, and moisture in meat of Bettina Turkey. We selected 6 adult Bettina Turkey in the same raising condition, and slaughtered and separated breast musccle.挺the visible fat and hoof tissue were removed, and a portion of 200 grams of meat was stored in-20 ℃.The protein, fat, collagen, and moisture in meat were determined after unfrozen at 4℃.The results showed that as the increase of frozen storage, the contents of protein and fat were increased quadratically(y=-0’0014x2+0.0053x+23.535,R2=0.565;y=0.000 4x2-0.0144x+2.6936,R2=0.533),and the moisture contents increased linearly(y=0.028x+72.627,R2=0.8034),but the there was no changes in collagen contents. When storage at-20 ℃ for 75 days, the protein and fat contents dramatically changed in earlier storage, whereas as the increase of storage, the protein and fat contents did not changed dramatically. But the moisture contents changed dramatically in later period of storage. In summary, frozen storage changed the nutrient contents. In summary, cage system for Turkey can improve growth performance of Turkey and feed conversion efficiency, save farm costs, and improve the utilization of Turkey houses,so it can improve breeding profits of Turkey. Therefore,it is practicable to raise Turkey in cage system。...
