Study On Phenological Periods Of Sorghum Hybrids And Pennisetum Glaucum And The Feeding Effect On Qinchuan Cattle With Hay Of Them | Posted on:2019-09-11 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | Country:China | Candidate:L S Feng | Full Text:PDF | GTID:2393330569987015 | Subject:Agricultural Extension | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | The aim of this experiment is to observe phenological periods of hybrid sorghum and pennisetum glaucum,and to study the influence of different hay on feeding effect of qinchuan cattle.The pasture was planted in the farm in yangling,shaanxi province.In this experiment 3units of 6mí10m were selected in each forage variety which was observed every day.In the feed experriment a total of 12 qinchuan cattle(12-month-old)without significant difference in weightwererandomlydividedintosorghumhybridgroup(hybrid sorghum+silage+concentrate),pennisetum glaucumg roup(pennisetum glaucum+silage+concentrate),wheat straw group(wheat straw+silage+concentrate)and control group(silage+concentrate),with 3 cows in each group.Feed experiment lasted for 60 days,including 15 days of adaptation and 45 days of data collection.The results showed as follows:(1)Phenological observations of sorghum hybrids and pennisetum glaucum:The harvest time and seed maturity of sorghum hybrids were respectively 83d and 114d.The harvest time and seed maturity of pennisetum glaucum were respectively 84d and 123d.The yield of fresh grass of sorghum hybrids and pennisetum glaucum were respectively 29391 kg/hm~2 and18540 kg/hm~2.(2)Influence of different hay on growth:The final weight of sorghum hybrids group was higher than the other three goups(P>0.05)and the final weight of wheat straw group was higher than the other two groups(P>0.05).The BWG of sorghum hybrids group and wheat straw group were significantly higher than the other two groups(P<0.05).The ADG of sorghum hybrids group and wheat straw group were significantly higher than the other two groups(P<0.05),and the ADG of sorghum hybrids group was the highest.the F/G of sorghum hybrids group and wheat straw group were significantly lower than the other two groups(P<0.05),and the F/G of sorghum hybrids group was the lowest.The increment of chest circumference,hip width,and pin bone width of sorghum hybrids group was higher than the other three groups(P>0.05).The increment of body height,body steep length and rump length of wheat straw group was higher than the other three groups(P>0.05).(3)Study on feeding laws of Qinchuan cattle:The feeding behavior occurred most times in 17:00-18:00、10:00-11:00、11:00-12:00、16:00-17:00、15:00-16:00,and the least times in4:00-5:00、3:00-4:00、2:00-3:00、5:00-6:00、23:00-24:00.The highest ADF occurred in17:00-18:00、6:00-7:00、18:00-19:00、7:00-8:00、16:00-17:00 and the lowest ADF occurred in 1:00-2:00、2:00-3:00、3:00-4:00、9:00-10:00、5:00-6:00.The feeding times during 0-5min was 1314 which was the most,5-10min、10-15min followed.Feed intake per time at 0.1kg occurred most times.The feeding time of sorghum hybrids group was more than pennisetum glaucum group in 5:00-6:00(P<0.05);The feeding time of sorghum hybrids group was more than wheat straw group in 12:00-13:00(P<0.05);the feeding time of sorghum hybrids group was more than pennisetum glaucum group in 19:00-20:00(P<0.05);the feeding time of sorghum hybrids group was more than control group in 21:00-22:00(P<0.05).Feed intake per time at 0.1kg of sorghum hybrids group occurred more times than wheat straw group and feed intake per time at 1.7kg of pennisetum glaucum group occurred more times than sorghum hybrids group.(4)Influence of different hay on blood biochemical indices:The content of BUN increased significantly in all groups(P<0.01).The content of ALP of pennisetum glaucum group increased significantly(P<0.05).The content of ALP of the wheat straw group increased significantly(P<0.05).In summary,the weather conditions were fit for the growth and development of sorghum hybrids and pennisetum glaucum.Sorghum hybrids was high quality pasture for Qinchuan cattle,pennisetum glaucum and wheat straw worked well too. | Keywords/Search Tags: | sorghum hybrid, pennisetum glaucum, phenological periods, Qinchuan cattle | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
