Xinjiang is located in the northwest arid region of China.Since the 1980 s,lack of water resources and the rapid development of irrigation agriculture in oasis, which have become one of the most important environment problems for the sustainable development in Xinjiang, has resulted in a large area of land secondary salinization. It is an important growth restriction factor for most non-saline plants.Reasonable water and fertilizer regulation, especially high-efficient use of water, can help to mitigate the adverse effects of salinity on plant growth and yield. In this paper, conventional and isotope tracer method were used to explore the effect of irrigation and drip irrigation on the change of soil water salinity and cotton growth, and analysis the drip irrigation under the condition of different fertilization on soil salinity and nitrogen migration. The objective of this experiment is to provide the theory basis for the establishment of reasonable control measures for local cotton soil fertilizer. The main results are as follows:(1)Irrigation methods directly affect the growth of cotton. The cotton plants treated with drip irrigation are thicker and the cottons are in better growth condition.Compared with watering control, soil moisture content is higher under drip irrigation.(2)Drip irrigation had no significant effect on soil water and salt distribution, but had a significant effect on soil nitrogen distribution.when the nitrogen fertilization with water droplets,15 N distributed well in the soil, which means the vertical distribution was the deepest while the horizontal distribution was small.Soil moisture, salt and nutrients have important effect on cotton root system. Therefore,it is one of the most important measures in agricultural production to screen the actual irrigation and fertilization modes in the local area. This study shows that the promotion role in cotton growth with drip irrigation was significantly higher than it with watering treatment, which indicated drip irrigation was more suitable for cotton field management in Xinjiang. Finally,it provided a theoretical basis for regulation of soil water, fertilizer and salt under drip irrigation.
