Experiment on Labor-saving of weeds control and ecological cultivation of citrus orchard in accordance with the conduct of experiment of National Technical System of Modern Agricultural Citrus Industry,in this study,five mountain citrus orchards in different regions of Hubei,Fujian and Shanxi were selected to adopt artificial grass production in orchards.Ryegrass,white clover,bahia grass,alfalfa,rosegrass,wild pea,broad bean,Yunnan barley,cosmos and chrysanthemum were selected to be as raw materials,designing of different seeding treatments for the materials to be tested.Taking natural grass as control,through the statistical analysis of the growth of seeded grass seed and the effect of weed control,it is expected to select the grass species with simple operation,easy management and strong ability of weed control.At the same time,the grass species with the potential to be popularized in the producing areas were excavated,which provided the theoretical basis for the study of weed control by grass cultivation in citrus orchards.The main results are as follows: 1.Effect of artificial grass on weed control under different soil treatments in citrus orchardFour recommended species of ryegrass,white clover,bahia grass and alfalfa were planted by artificial tillage and non-land preparation between rows of young citrus orchard in newly built mountain area.The results showed that the growth of artificial tillage in citrus orchard was significantly higher than that non-land preparation.The natural height of alfalfa population was the largest during the effective period of weed control,which reached 43 cm.The effect of different treatments of ryegrass on weed control was significantly better than that of all soil treatments of other grass species,and the weed control efficiency reached 94%.2.Effect of different sowing amount of artificial grass on weed control in citrus orchardFour recommended species of ryegrass,white clover,bahia grass and alfalfa were planted by high sowing rate,middle sowing rate and low seeding rate between rows of young citrus orchard in newly built mountain area in the experiment.The results showed that the natural height of alfalfa at high sowing rate was significantly higher than that of middle and low sowing rate,reaching 48 cm during the whole effective period of weed control.The natural height of bahia grass,white clover and ryegrass was significantly higher than that of the other two seeding amounts,reaching 38 cm,28 cm and 17 cm respectively.The effect of ryegrass on weed control was significantly higher than that of other three grass species under all sowing amount treatments,and the weed control efficiency reached 96.4%.3.Effects of different fertilization treatments of artificial grass on weed control in citrus orchardIn this experiment,four recommended species of ryegrass,white clover,bahia grass and alfalfa were planted in newly built mountain citrus orchard with different fertilization treatments.The results showed that the alfalfa population had the highest natural height and reached 62 cm during the effective period of the whole weed control,The natural height of the population is the largest when all grass species are fertilized twice.The control efficiency of four kinds of grass had higher control efficiency on weeds under the condition of twice fertilization.The weed control efficiency of ryegrass under different fertilization conditions was significantly higher than that of other grass species,which were under all other fertilization treatments.and the weed control efficiency could reached 96.5%.4.Effect of sowing different herbaceous species on weed control in tree trayIn this experiment,4 recommended species of ryegrass,white clover,bahia grass and alfalfa were sown in mountain adult citrus orchards with crown drip lines as the boundary.The results showed that the control efficiency of white clover on weeds was significantly higher than that of other grass species in the whole effective period of weed control,and the weed control efficiency reached 94.7%.The root mass of four species of grass was concentrated within 20 cm above the surface of the earth’s surface,and the root distribution of citrus was less in this soil layer,The grasses had no significant effect on the distribution of citrus root system,which was beneficial to the root system of citrus,and had little competition with citrus in the field of fertilizer and water.5.Effect of artificial planting of rosegrass on weed control in citrus orchard of YongchunIn this experiment,weed control by artificial planting of ratgrass was carried out in the orchard of mandarin,which was 6 years old in Yongchun,Fujian province.The results showed that the weed control efficiency reached 97.07% during the growth period of ratgrass.Rosegrass dormant naturally in summer,covering a thickness of 5 cm,strong ability of continuous control of weeds in rosegrass.6.Effects of five species of grass species on weed control in Hanzhong citrus production areaThe experiment of grass control was carried out in Wenzhou mandarin orchard in Chenggu mountain area of Hanzhong Shaanxi province by sowing alfalfa,ryegrass,wild pea,broad bean,Yunnan barley.The results showed that the efficiency of weed control in the whole effective period of weed control was: wild pea > Yunnan barley > ryegrass > alfalfa > broad bean.The weed control efficiency of wild pea was 97%,which was significantly higher than that of alfalfa and broad bean.The natural population of wild pea is moderate(47cm),and its roots are shallow(21cm).It is an excellent weed control grass that does not compete for fertilizer with citrus.7.Effect of planting two recommended flowers on weed control in citrus orchard of DangyangThe experiment on weed control was carried out in mandarin orchard of Dangyang,Hubei province by artificial seeding of cosmos and chrysanthemum.The results showed that in the whole effective period of weed control,the control efficiency of the two grasses reached 74.22% and 75.9% respectively,and there was no significant difference in the control efficiency.The two recommended flowers grow well between rows of citrus orchards,have long flowering period,strong regeneration ability of seeds,good effect of saving energy and controlling grass,and have stronger ornamental effect in flowering period,which is suitable for artificial planting and controlling grass in the suburban sightseeing orchards.
