In order to explore the best organic aroma improver to improve the yield and aroma content of aromatic rice,and provide theoretical basis and guidance for the cultivation of aromatic rice,effects of spraying different organic aroma improvers,such as water(CK),organic aroma improver 1(T1),organic aroma improver 2(T2),organic aroma improver 3(T3),organic aroma improver 4(T4),in the full heading stage,on physiological characteristics,photosynthetic characteristics,2-acety-1-pyrroline(2-AP)content,yield and quality were studied by using two conventional aromatic rice cultivars Meixiangzhan 2 and Xiangyaxiangzhan,during early season and late season in 2016,on the South China Agricultural University farm.The main results were as follows:(1)organic aroma improver 1 significantly increased the 2-AP content in mature grains of Xiangyaxiangzhan.During early season,the grain 2-AP content of spraying organic aroma improver 1 to Xiangyaxiangzhan was reach to 103.19 μg/kg,47.75% more than CK,during early season,100.21 μg/kg,60.90% more than CK.During early season,the grain 2-AP content of spraying organic aroma improver3 to Meixiangzhan 2 was reach to 170.11 μg/kg,175.48% more than CK,during early season,80.56 μg/kg,30.08% more than CK.Both organic aroma improver1 and organic aroma improver 3 could increase 2-AP and proline content in leaves,γ-aminobutyric acid content in leaves and grains,pyrroline-5-carboxylic acid content and γ-aminobutyric acid content in grains,proline dehydrogenase activity in gra ins.(2)Organic aroma improver 3 could increase 1000-weight and net photosynthetic rate and the yield of Xiangyaxiangzhan.(3)Organic aroma improver 1 could significantly reduce the protein content in grains of Xiangyaxiangzhan and organic aroma improver 3 could significantly reduce the protein content in grains of Meixiangzhan 2.
