?Object?Effect of irrigation frequency on growth,yield and water use efficiency of Xinjiang spring maize with high-yield of 15000 kg/hm~2 were studied by conducting experiments of different irrigation frequencies under the condition of drip irrigation under plastic film.The effects of different irrigation frequencies on plant characters,leaf area growth,material production characteristics and yield formation of maize were analyzed.Identify the optimum irrigation frequency for high-yield maize under limited irrigation conditions.It will be helpful for providing a basis for improving the yield and water production efficiency of maize in arid areas and provides technical reference for formulating a reasonable irrigation system.?Method?This study was conducted in at Qitai farm from 2016 to 2017 by adopting drip irrigation under plastic film.Based on the local irrigation frequency of high-yield maize(CK,9 day),three irrigation frequency levels: 6 day(6D),9 day(9D),12 day(12D)were adopted in 2016.Five irrigation frequency levels: 3 day(3D),6 day(6D),9 day(9D),12 day(12D)and 15 day(15D)were adopted in 2017.Xianyu335(XY335)and Zhengdan958(ZD958)were used in 2016 and Xianyu335(XY335)was used in 2017.Use wide and narrow rows of planting patterns: wide rows(70cm),narrow rows(40cm).Planting density was 12×104 plants /hm~2 in both years.The effects of irrigation frequency on water growth,yield and water use efficiency(WUE)of Xinjiang spring maize with high yield of 15000 kg/hm~2 were analyzed.?Result? Under the condition of 5400 m~3/hm~2 irrigation,the increasing frequency irrigation and appropriate irrigation frequency were beneficial to the growth and development of maize.During the silking stage,the height and ear height of the irrigation frequency 6D treatment were significantly higher than those of 3D,9D,12 D and 15 D.The leaf area,leaf area index,photosynthetic potential,dry matter accumulation,and accumulation rate of 6D treatment were the highest after silking stage;The pre-flower dry matter transport rate and the contribution rate to maize kernels of 6D treatment were significantly lower than other treatments.In addition,the number of harvested ear was not affected by the irrigation frequency,and the number of grains per spike and 1000-grain weight of 6D treatment was significantly higher than other treatments.Therefore,the irrigation frequency affects the maize yield by affecting the number of grains per ear and 1000 grains.High yield(19082.9-21022.8 kg/hm~2)was obtained by the irrigation frequency 6D treatment,and high-water use efficiency(2.53-2.80 kg/m~3)and irrigation water use efficiency(3.53-3.89 kg/m~3)were obtained.Therefore,the appropriate irrigation frequency(6D)can improve the water use efficiency and further increase the yield of maize.?Conclusion?(1)Irrigation frequency affects plant height and ear high of maize,affects leaf area size,leaf area index and photosynthetic potential,and the accumulation of dry matter and transport and distribution of maize.The appropriate irrigation frequency(6D)was beneficial to the growth,leaf area and the accumulation of dry matter of maize.(2)The frequency of irrigation irrigation significantly affected the number of grains per ear and 1000-grain weight of maize.The high or low irrigation frequency was not conducive to the formation of maize grain yield,and ultimately affected the maize yield.The appropriate irrigation frequency(6D)was beneficial to the increase of maize yield.And get the highest yield.(3)The frequency of irrigation significantly affected the water use efficiency and irrigation water use efficiency of maize.Irrigation frequency(6D)achieves high water use efficiency and irrigation water use efficiency.Therefore,under the irrigation quota of 5400 m~3/hm~2,the irrigation interval of 6 days is the appropriate irrigation frequency in the region,and high yield and water production efficiency are obtained.
