Using the 5,10,15 years old planted Salix psammophila as the research object, the changes of the height, base diameter, crown coverage, number of branches above ground, maximum branching number of a branch, maximum bud number of a branch, average branch diameter at the base above ground, the biomass and carbon sequestration of the different stumping times were investigated. Then the relationship between different growth factors and carbon sequestration of Salix psammophila was analyzed. This study could provide a theoretical basis for the study of the biomass and carbon sequestration of the Salix psammophila. The results showed that:(1)The average carbon rate of Salix psammophila was 46.07%.And the carbon rate of different vegetative organs of it was different, the order of which is branch(47.13%)> leaf(45.89%)> root(45.18%).Compared with other local shrubs, the carbon rate of Salix psammophila(46.07%)was less than that of Hedysarum scoparium(47.72%),Hedysarum laeve(46.85%)and Caragana korshinskii(46.24%),but higher than that of Tamarix ramosissima(43.28%).(2)With the increase of forest age and stumping time, the carbon sequestration increased in the stumping 3 times of the planted 15 years old,the stumping 2 times of the planted 10 years old,and the stumping 1 times of the planted 5 years old,and the carbon sequestration was 5.28 kg,4.75 kg,1.80 kg,respectively. The carbon sequestration showed the same growth trend in the planted 15,10,5 years old of the no stumping Salix psammophila, and the carbon sequestration was 3.75 kg,3.09 kg,1.91 kg,respectively. The carbon sequestration also showed the same growth trend in different stumping time of the 15 years old planted Salix psammophila, and the carbon sequestration was 3.75 kg,7.63 kg,5.28 kg,9.47 kg,respectively.(3)There was a significant increase in the number of branches above ground of Salix psammophila with the increase of stumping time and forest age in all investigated growth factors. The correlation between carbon sequestration and numberof branches above ground(y=0.0562x1.1032,R2=0.5911),average branch diameter at the base above ground(y=1.3642x2.5544,R2=0.5126)and base diameter(y=0.0204x1.288,R2=0.4865)was higher, respectively. But the correlation between carbon sequestration and crown coverage(y=0.222x1.2153,R2=0.4267),the height(y=0.0488x3.7192,R2=0.3955)and,maximum bud number of a branch(y=0.0005x2.0622,R2=0.3297)was lower,respectively.(4)Carbon sequestration, biomass and growth factors of Salix psammophila in the sand burial leeward slope was higher than that in the no sand burial leeward slope and the windward slope.
