Armyworm is a kind of heteropoly pest,which mainly feeds on corn,wheat,rice and other crops and herbage,and has the characteristics of seasonal migration and intermittent outbreak,which has brought serious harm to the growth of crops.By field monitoring of the armyworm worm,a kind of body color mutation was found.Compared to ordinary armyworm,the variation in flight ability,winter ability,environmental adaptability,and genetic characteristics had occurred in varying degrees.It is of great significance to explore laws and diseases and insect pests.The research results are mainly shown in the following aspects.(1)the difference between the normal and mutant armyworm is on the body color of the adult.The body color of the normal armyworm is shallow,and the body color of the mutant is all reddish brown and the color is deeper.There was no significant difference in egg,larva,and pupae between the two species.Through genetic experiments,we can know that the inheritance rule of mutant sticky worm is mainly controlled by the single gene of constant staining,and is in line with Mendel's law of inheritance.Although there is a significant difference between the body color of the mutants and the normal type,there is a normal cross between the two and the normal offspring,indicating that the normal and mutant armyworm are still the same species.(2)measuring the supercooling point of the normal type sticky bug and mutant sticky worm,we know the insect overwintering state of the mutant.The larval supercooling points were arranged in descending order of 6 age > 5 age > 4 age > 3 age > 1 age > 2 years.The minimum and maximum value of the cooling point were-16.21 + 2.4 and-7.68 + 1.6,respectively.The difference was significant(P < 0.05)with the other instar larvae(P < 0.05),and there was no significant difference(P > 0.05)in 3 years to 5 years.Statistical significance;pupal stage mutant sticky worm and normal type sticky worm all winter in pupae form,consistent with the winter insect state.(3)the adaptability of the mutant's sticky worm to environment changed significantly,and the adaptability of the mutant was stronger than that of 21 degrees Celsius,and the adaptability decreased with the temperature above 29.The amount of spawning of mutants is increased,the period of production is shortened,the amount of food is increased,and the physiological characteristics are significantly changed.It shows that the environmental adaptation ability of the mutants is strong,and the sudden harm may appear in a specific environment.
