| This study aimed to evaluate the effects of dietary vitamin E(VE)supplementation on reproductive performance, antioxidant and immune function in laying duck breeders, and the effects on antioxidant and immune function in 1 d offspring ducks,by feeding experiment, plasma and liver parameters, metabolism experiments, hatching experiments, slaughter trials.504 Longyan laying ducks at the age of 120 d were randomly divided into 6 treatments, each with 6 replicates of 14 ducks, and fed a corn-soybean meal-basal diet supplemented with either 0,12.5,25,50,100 or 200 mg/kg VE,This experiment lasted for 6 months. The results showed that:1 Dietary VE supplementation increased(P<0.05)egg production and decreased(P=0.057)feed conversion of laying duck breeders, the highest egg production and lowest feed conversion were seem at the ducks fed with 12.5 mg/kg VE supplementatio n.There was no significant effects on average egg weight and egg mass(P>0.05).2 The activity of MDA in the yolk were decreased linearly as dietary VE supplementation increased(P<0.05).There was no significant effects on shell thickness, egg weight, shell strength, haugh unit, albumen height, yolk color score, yolk percentage or shell percentage of laying duck breeders(P>0.05).3 Dietary VE supplementation increased(P<0.05)dominant follicle weight of laying duck breeders, the highest dominant follicle weight were seem at the ducks fed with 12.5 mg/kg VE supplementation. There was no significant effects on oviduct weight, ovary weight, the number of dominant fo llicle, dominant follicle weight/ovary,egg fertilization rate, egg hatching rate and the healthy young rate(P>0.05).4 Dietary VE supplementation increased(P<0.05)plasma total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC)of laying duck breeders, which increased at first and then decreased with the increased of VE supplementation, the highest plasma T-AOC were seem at the birds fed with 50 mg/kg VE supplementation. The activity of protein carbonyl(PC)and MDA were decreased linearly as dietary VE supplementation increased(P<0.05).There was no significant effects on the activity of plasma total superoxide d ismutase(T-SOD),catalase(CAT),liver T-SOD,Glutathione Peroxidase(GSH-Px),CAT,T-AOC and MDA(P>0.05).5 Dietary VE supplementation increased(P<0.05)plasma interleukin-2(IL-2)and interferon-γ(IFN-γ)of laying duck breeders, the highest IL-2 and IFN-γ were seem at the birds fed with 200 mg/kg VE supplementation. There was no significant effects on spleen index, plasma immunoglobulin G(IgG)and immunoglobulin M(IgM)(P>0.05).6 Plasma GSH-Px and liver T-SOD activity of 1d offspring ducks increased at first and then decreased with the increase of VE supplementation(P<0.05),the highest plasma GSH-Px and liver T-SOD activity were seem at the birds fed with 25 mg/kg VE supplementation.Dietary VE supplementation decreased(P<0.05)the activity of plasma and liver MDA of 1d offspring ducks, and the activity of liver MDA were decreased linearly as dietary VE supplementation increased(P<0.05).There was no significant effects on plasma T-AOC and liver GSH-Px(P>0.05).7 The activity of plasma IL-2 were increased quadratic curve and IFN-γ of 1d offspring ducks were increased linearly as dietary VE supplementation increased(P<0.05).the highest plasma IL-2 and IFN-γ were seem at the birds fed with 200 mg/kg VE supplementation. In conclusion,Dietary VE supplementation can improve reproductive performance and antioxidant functions in laying duck breeders, also can improve the antioxidant function of 1d offspring ducks.Meanwhile, that supplemented with high levels of VE can better maintain or improve the immune functions of laying duck breeders and 1d offspring ducks. |
