Selection And Breeding Of Yuhe Yellow-Feather Broilers Lines

Yellow-Feather broilers in China are rich in germplasm resources,but their production performance is lower than that of foreign white broilers breeds,causing serious waste of resources,which greatly limits the development of yellow-feather broilers in China.The main purpose of this study is to use native yellow-feather broilers as the main breeding material,and properly introduce high-yielding broilers to improve the performance of native yellow-feather broilers while maintaining it’s meat quality.This will provide more ordinary high-quality yellow-feather broilers for people in Guangdong,Hong Kong and Macao.Therefore,Yuhe Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Co.Ltd.is currently using the company’s existing yellow-feather broilers line A and line B and recessive white feather Locke chicken line C as a pure line for breeding,combined with the determination of combining ability to carry out the cultivation of a new breed of yellow-hemp chicken,so that the new cultivated yellow-hemp chicken line has both high economic value and meets the requirements of the market for yellow-feather broilers(including body appearance,weight,meat quality,feather color,etc.).Among them,line A and line B are all native yellow-feather broilers breeds,and line C are recessive white feather Rookery chickens.In this experiment,the three major lines were selected systematically,including body appearance,body weight,laying-start age,egg production and reproductive performance.After several generations of breeding,the results showed that the body appearance of all the lines was basically the same,and the production performance was excellent.Among them,the average number of eggs laid on the 300 th day of the line A was 80.5 eggs,and the average age of the 5% laying-start age was 164 d.The average egg production on the300-day-old line B was 85.9 eggs,and the 5% laying-start age was 160d;the line C average number of eggs produced was 90.7,and the 5% laying-start age was 175 d.The results of the pilot test showed that the appearance of the commercial product is basically the same,the growth rate is faster,the feed consumption is less,and the meat production performanceis excellent.The listed body weight reach 1750 g in 70 days,the semi-net ratio can reach81.6%,and the total net defect rate can reach 66.8%.From the results of the pilot test,the matching system of yellow-feather broilers basically meets the requirements of the market for ordinary high-quality yellow-feather broilers,and the meat production performance is higher than that of ordinary yellow-feather broilers,and the growth speed is faster.Therefore,the supporting system for yellow-feather broilers cultivated has excellent production performance,high economic value,and can be used for breeding.
