The Application Of Pig Manure In The Planting Of Guimu No.1 Hybrid Elephant Grass

Three levels(3000 kg/667 m~2,6000 kg/667 m~2and 9000 kg/667 m~2)of pig manure were used to compare their effects on the performance and nutrient content of hybrid elephant grass GuiMu No.1 and the concentration of heavy metals in hybrid elephant grass GuiMu No.1 and soil.Results indicated that application of pig manure increased its winter hardiness and overwintering rate of hybrid elephant grass GuiMu No.1.Number of tillers increased as the level of pig manure increased,but there was no significant difference among three levels(P>0.05).Performance of hybrid elephant grass GuiMu No.1 among different treatments was significant different and the performance in the first harvest year was significantly higher than that in the second harvest year.Nutrient contents in five samples of hybrid elephant grass GuiMu No.1 irregularly varied and this grass didn't have high ability in accumulating heavy metals,but the content of copper and zinc in hybrid elephant grass GuiMu No.1 increased as the pig manure level increased.In conclusion,application of pig manure at 9000 kg/667 m~2to hybrid elephant grass GuiMu No.1 can achieve the best performance,pig manure can be used at this level after harvest each time to make hybrid elephant grass GuiMu No.1 grow faster in order to increase its performance and its consumptive ability to pig manure.
