Blue fox was the main species of fur animal raised in Northeast area,and also was an special-type economic animal species widely cultivated in China.In order to understanding the application effect of Visual Sampo system as the breeding management technique of genetic traits preservation in large-scale blue fox farms,this research statistically analyze the reproductive performance,body length and weight,pelt size,and fur density of breeding blue foxes that were introduced from Finland by Harbin Hualong Blue Fox breeding Co.Ltd.China in 2016,and their first filial generation.After practiced the breeding management by utilizing Visual Sampo system,the reproductive performances of female fox in filial generation have obviously improved.The pregnancy rate significantly increased(P<0.05),and the empty rate,the abortion rate,the cesarean section rate and the number of female fox which litter size all dead has all effectively declined(P<0.05).The average litter size of filial generation female fox was(8.4±0.7)heads,and the 21d survival rate of fox has remarkable enhanced(P<0.01).The improvement of semen quality of filial generation male fox was not prominent.The average ejaculate volume revealed conspicuous increasing trend(P<0.01),and the sperm density displayed obvious decreasing trend(P<0.01).The sperm motility was slightly improved(P>0.05),the average value was 0.85±0.09,and the average spermatozoa number was 933million.In conclusion,the semen quality of male fox was maintained at the high level that was indicated that the application of Visual Sampo system was beneficial to the preservation and expression of the reproductive genetic traits of male breeding blue fox.With the usage of breeding management of one generation,the body length and weight of male fox represented unremarkably increased(P>0.05).While on the contrary,the body sizes of female fox were slightly reduced(P>0.05).Otherwise,the pelt size and the fur density slightly improved with the utilization of Visual Sampo system.The practical application of Visual Sampo system,as the advanced technology method of breeding management,in the breeding blue fox farm has achieved better genetic progress.The conclusions of this research manifested that the utilization of Visual Sampo sysytem has significantly improved and maintained the expression of reproductive preformation,body size,pelt size and fur density,as well as promoting the seed selection and breeding process more convenient,accurate,effective,scientific.Since,Visual Sampo system was able to be used as an advantageous genetic management technique to be effectively utilized in the cultivation of blue fox.
