The study aimed to know the characteristics of soil fertility in different planting years of Zanthoxylum armatum, which was in order to guide the cultivation of Zanthoxylum armatum, and combine fertilization and improve the soil.Soil physical properties, nutrient content, microbe number and enzyme activity were determined in the hill areas of Guangan District,Sichuan,Zanthoxylum armatum stand(QHJ2,QHJ5,QHJ9 and QHJ14 respectively represented two year planting, five year planting, nine year planting and fourteen year planting),farm land(CK)and abandoned farmland(fourteen years,QGD)and the membership function method was used to evaluate soil fertility of different stand models. Results as follows:(1)Soil water-holding capacity, porosity, nutrient content, microbe quantity and enzyme activity of Zanthoxylum armatum stand and Cupressus funebris stand were higher than that of CK,and increased with Zanthoxylum armatum stand planting years number;on the contrary, soil bulk density of Zanthoxylum armatum stand and Cupressus funebris stand were less than CK,and decreased with Zanthoxylum armatum stand planting years number.Compared with CK,soil natural water content, maximum water-holding capacity, capillary water-holding,field water-holding,non-capillary porosity and capillary porosity of 2?14a Zanthoxylum armatum stand were respectively increased by 5.3?28.8%,5.1?26.4%,4.9?25.3%,5.3?29.5%,8.1?15.2%and 4.2?19.4%;organic carbon content, total nitrogen content, hydrolysis nitrogen content, available phosphorus content and available potassium content were respectively increased by 4.5?43.1%,2.8?35.2%,18.0?166.1%,9.1?134.0%and 6.7?112.1%;the number of bacteria, fungi and actynomycete were respectively increased by 27.6?208.4%,25.2?100.1%and 15.9?111.0%;the activity of invertase, urease, phosphatase and catalase were respectively increased by 14.2?114.9%,20.0?110.0%,25.0?168.8%and 12.1?103.0%;soil bulk density was decreased by 0.7?4.8%.(2)Compared with 14a Cupressus funebris stand, soil natural water content, maximum water-holding capacity, capillary water-holding,field water-holding,non-capillary porosity and capillary porosity of 14 a Zanthoxylum armatum stand were respectively increased by 5.4%,4.5%,4.2%,5.0%,8.1%and 4.1%;organic carbon content, total nitrogen content, hydrolysis nitrogen content, available phosphorus content and available potassium content were respectively increased 7.6%,7.9%,24.7%,87.3%and 94.4%;the number of bacteria, fungi and actinomycete were respectively increased 17.1%,13.7%and 26.3%;the activity of invertase, urease, phosphatase and catalase were increased 17.5%,26.8%,22.9%and 13.9%.(3)The soil fertility comprehensive value(CVSF)was significantly increased by planting Zanthoxylum armatum or Cupressus funebris treatments, and the values was ranked as QHJ14>QHJ9>QGD>QHJ5>QHJ2>CK.QHJ14 and QGD had significant difference, but the QHJ9 and QGD had unremarkable difference;the CVSF was significantly related to soil physical properties, nutrient content, microbe number and enzyme activity(P<0.05).Planting Zanthoxylum armatum has significant soil amendment and enrichment efficiency, and is valuable for improving soil fertility in hill areas of Eastern Sichuan, and enriches the farmers;soil fertility comprehensive value can comprehensively reflect the soil fertility different attributes.
