| According to the production records of sows and boars in 2014-2016 from a great grandparents pig farm in Anhui Province,we studied the effects of different varieties, parities, breeding season and birth month on the reproductive performance of the Danish sows, the difference of the growth performance among Danish pig breeds, and the population selecting progress in 2014-2016,aimed to provide the scientific basis for the corresponding measures to improve the reproductive performance and growth performance of the pigs in this pig farm. The results were as the following:1.Comparision of the production performance among different Danish pig breeds:Yorkshire sows are higher than that of Landrace and Duroc in the average number of litter, the average number of live births and the number of healthy offspring, and the difference between Yorkshire and Landrace was not significant(P>0.05),but Yorkshire and Landrace were significantly higher than that of Duroc(P<0.01).The100Kg body weight corrected age of the replacement gilts and boars of Danish Yorkshire was significantly higher than that of Danish Duroc(P<0.05).The100Kg body weight corrected backfat of the replacement gilts is not significantly different among Danish pig breeds. The 100Kg body weight corrected backfat of the replacement boars of Danish Yorkshire was significantly higher than that of Danish Duroc(P<0.05).2.The effects of breeding seasons on the reproductive performance of Danish sows:There was no significant difference between the average litter size and the average number of litters of Danish breeding Landrace in spring, autumn and winter(P>0.05),however,the average litter size and the number of litters in summer were significantly lower than those in other three seasons(P<0.01),average litter of total litter of Danish breeding Yorkshire is highest in winter, and lowest in spring.3.The effects of different parities on the reproductive performance of Danish sows:The average litter size of Danish breeding Landrace was highest in the fifth parity and lowest in the eighth parity,2,3,4,5,6 were significantly higher than the 1,7,8parity(P<0.01).Parity and average litter total litter size and stillbirth number were fitted by the binomial, the regression equations are y=-0.1352x~2+1.1695x+12.533,y=0.0043x~2+0.0429x+1.2998.The total litter size of Danish breeding Yorkshire was highest in forth parity, and lowest in first parity, and 2,3,4,5,6,7 parity were significantly higher than 1 and 8 parity(P<0.01),and 2,3,5,6,7 were significantly higher than 4 parity(P<0.01).4.Birth month of Danish breeding Landrace and Yorkshire and average litter total litter size, number of mummies, deformity number were fitted by the binomial, the regression equations y=-0.0033x~2+0.0548x-0.0605,y=0.006x~2-0.1759x+2.3905,y=-0.0051x~2+0.0824x-0.0806,y=0.0153x~2-0.3019x+2.8693.5.The breeding work of Danish Landrace in this pig farm had achieved considerable progress in 2014-2016,the paternal and maternal indexes increased year by year, indicating that the breeding work had been maintaining a continuing process. The growth performance of Duroc and Yolkshire also increased, the EBVs of the age and backfat thickness of 100Kg pigs decreased year by year, and the maternal index improved greatly from 2014 to 2015,decreased slightly from 2015 to2016.In conclusion:The reproductive performance of Danish Yorkshire pigs were better than that of Danish Landrace and Duroc pigs;the growth performance of Duroc pigs were the best. The mating month, parities and birth month had a significant effect on the reproductive performance of Danish breeding sows. The breeding work of Danish Landrace in this pig farm had achieved considerable progress in 2014-2016.The growth performance of Duroc and Yolkshire also increased, but the breeding work on the reproductive performance of Duroc and Yolkshire had made little headway. |
