Abstract/Summary:
This study selected two types of rice varieties including conventional Japonica Rice and Hybrid Rice,which were widely spread in Anhui province.Through a pot experiment to explore different varieties’population quality,yield,rice quality,differences in root characteristics and monitore greenhouse gas emissions among individual plants in the whole growth period.The goal is to find out the rule of greenhouse gas emissions and possible causes of the differences of greenhouse gas emissions.The study draws the following conclusions:1 Greenhouse gas emissions from different types of rice varietiesCH4 emission between different rice varieties had same change trend.During the whole growth period appeared three emission peaks,which were tillering stage、pre-bakes stage and filling stage.Hybrid rice average cumulative emissions were 15.37%higher than conventional Japonica rice.N2O emission between different rice varieties had same change trend.During the whole growth period appeared two emission peaks,which were the end of tin and late bake stage.Hybrid rice average cumulative emissions were 10.87%higher than conventional Japonica rice.CO2 emission between different rice varieties had same change trend.During the growth period appeared three emission peaks:tillering stage、baked stage and mature stage.Conventional Japonica rice average cumulative emissions were 5.17%than Hybrid rice.2 Yield and yield components of different types of rice varietiesThe average yield of hybrid rice was 28.28%higher than conventional japonica rice,yield of three conventional japonica rice were not significantly different.Yield of FX1 was highest,which had siginificant difference with other varieties.The average effective panicle number、number of grains and thousand-grain weight of hybrid rice were higher than conventional japonica rice,and the difference were significant.The average seed setting rate between conventional japonica rice and hybrid rice were not significantly different.The average number of grains、seed setting rate were very siginificant correlated with yield,the effective panicle number and thousand-grain weight were positively correlated with yield but not significant.3 The difference of population quality of different rice varietiesHybrid rice average maximum tiller number was 16.96%siginificantly higher than conventional japonica rice.Hybrid rice tiller growth rate was significantly higher than conventional japonica rice.The average plant height’s growth rate of hybrid rice was significantly higher than conventional japonica rice.The SPAD value of rice reached the maximum in heading stage and minimum in ripe stage.The SPAD value of flag leaf at heading stage and mature stage were significantly different from that of other stages.Different types of rice’s changes of chlorophyll content in flag leaves were different in the same growth period.The average SPAD value was significantly higher than that of conventional japonica rice.At the same period,the average dry matter accumulation of hybrid rice’s leaves、stem and sheathes and roots were significangtly higher than that of conventional japonica rice.Comparing the tillering stage,the average dry matter accumulation of hybrid rice’s leaves、stem and sheathes and roots were significantly higher than conventional japonica rice at the heading stage.4 Study on root characteristics of different rice varieties and their correlation with greenhouse gas emissionAt tillering stage and heading stage,hybrid rice average root length,root volume,root surface area were significantly higher than that of conventional japonica rice.Comparing these two stages,conventional japonica rice average root dry weight growth rate was significantly higher than that of hybrid rice.The rate of dry matter accumulation in root were:WY27>D8>FX1>WKN1>W153>HY996.Root volume average growth rate of hybrid rice was significantly higher than that of conventional japonica rice.The root surface area and root length growth rate were not significantly different.Greenhouse gas emission flux and root characteristics have significant correlation,and the correlation of the same greenhouse gas had significant difference in different growth stages.
