Research On The Application Of Zen Aesthetic Concept In The Space Design Of Modern Homestay

As an indispensable part of Chinese traditional aesthetics,Zen aesthetics has profound influence on Chinese art field,which can be seen in Chinese traditional architecture,garden,calligraphy,painting and poetry.In modern society,social science and technology have been fully developed and living standards have been constantly improved.People began to seek the balance of material life and spiritual life.As a kind of travel choice for contemporary people,modern homestay has a unique culture and ecological environment different from the traditional hotel,which is gradually sought after by contemporary people,and also stimulates the design enthusiasm of young designers.Applying the concept of Zen aesthetics to the space design of the contemporary homestay can make tourists seek spiritual relaxation and relief in the space of the homestay,and get spiritual comfort in the impetuous society.This paper first expounds the concepts of Zen Aesthetics and modern homestay,and preliminarily demonstrates the feasibility of applying Zen aesthetics to homestay.Combined with the relevant monographs,this paper selects "natural view","air view" and "impermanence".Starting from these important features,it makes a key application analysis and expounds how to apply these concepts to space design.The "natural view" in Zen aesthetics produces the space design view of "unity of things and self,harmony and symbiosis".Combining with the design of homestay,it can create a space environment of empty,quiet and secluded.The concept of emptiness in Zen aesthetics produces the design concept of "blank" and "inclusiveness",which can be used to create a space of indifference and emptiness,from limited to infinite,containing multiple elements."Impermanence" in Zen aesthetics produces "beauty of fragmentary","beauty of material sorrow" and "beauty of uncertainty",which can create a simple,real and implicit space.Finally,through the case analysis of Zen space,it summarizes the ways to create Zen space,including material selection,light and shadow communication,water application,display design,color matching.Finally,the design practice of the house in luohantong village,Chang'an District,Xi'an city is completed to create a modern house with Zen aesthetic feelings.So as to improve the discrimination and aesthetic connotation of the space design of home stay,provide certain literature basis and theoretical support for the future space design of home stay,and inherit traditional culture.
