The profile design of scroll wrap is always the focus of the research on scroll compressor.Different scroll wrap profiles have different performance characteristics.The existing completely-meshing scroll wrap has complex design process and more design parameters.Meanwhile,the force of the constant thickness scroll wrap is uneven and the tooth deformation is large.In this paper,a method of middle for generating completely meshing wraps is proposed.Four types of scroll wrap modification were studied using the midline method,it was found that the circular involute modified wrap has a good working characteristics.Thus a new completely-meshing tapered thickness scroll is designed(the scroll profile includes the base circle involute and the variable base circle involute).The thickness of the scroll is gradually increased from periphery to center.The program of designing the scroll wraps was wrote.The equations of the scroll wraps for the completely-meshing tapered thickness double scroll were obtained.The working chamber of the novel scroll compressor was analysised with numerical simulation by the Ansys.The flow field distribution,the stress and deformation for scroll wraps were studied.The novel design method of midline is proposed,which advantage is easy to design and improve.The results show that the involute head modification has the best effect on the compressor pressurization among the four types of head modification under the common condition.A new type of completely meshing tapper scroll wrap is proposed,whose suction volume is large and the stress and deformation is small.The completely meshing characteristics for the novel tapered thickness scroll and double scroll is verified.The variable diameter Rb increase,the thickness of the scroll increases which is help for reducing the deformation.The angle?decrease,the volume ratio is increased and volume utilization rate is increased.The diameter Rb1 increase,the volume ratio is increased.The change of Rb has great influence on volumetric efficiency and suction volume,the Rb1 is not.In the same working space,the leakage line in the flow field of the scroll compressor for taper thickness scroll is shorter and pressurization is faseter compared to the even thickness scroll.The stress and deformation for the novel taper thickness scroll is small.The compression ratio can be greatly improved by the reducing of axial leakage.The design method with midline for scroll wraps and the novel completely-meshing taper thickness scroll have important theoretical and engineering significance for the improvement of the scroll design and the enrichment of the geometric profile of the scroll compressor.
