In recent years,people have paid more and more attention to the economic value of the ocean,and further increased the development and utilization of the ocean.In order to effectively detect and develop marine resources,a comprehensive understanding of the entire marine terrain is required.As an active sonar,a side scan sonar can use the bottom-scattering backscatter to construct topographical and geomorphic information on the bottom of the sea,and promote the development of marine resources.Therefore,it is very significant to develop a real-time side scan sonar system.After analyzing the basic principle of side scan sonar,pulse compression technology,matched filter principle and ZYNQ technology in detail,this thesis proposes and designs a side scan sonar signal processing system based on ZYNQ.The main research work and results of this thesis are summarized as follows:(1)By analyzing the calculation and storage of the side scan sonar signal processing in detail,at the same time,according to the design principles of FIR digital low-pass filter,CIC decimation filter and matched filter,digital quadrature demodulation,low-pass filter,decimation filter and matched filter calculation unit are designed respectively.In addition,for the overall workflow,a data transmission scheme for a multi-core heterogeneous computing platform is designed,which effectively solves the high bandwidth problem of data transmission.(2)This thesis first designs a side scan sonar signal processing hardware system,and then designs a signal processing method that combines software and hardware.It mainly includes IP cores such as signal transmission,signal reception synchronization,custom read DMA,digital quadrature demodulation,low-pass filter,decimation filter,matched filter,and custom storage DMA designed with Verilog HDL hardware description language.Then this thesis implements the work flow control,command communication and data scheduling functions on the dual-core ARM processor.Finally,the advantages of the ZYNQ multi-core heterogeneous computing platform are used to improve the signal processing speed of the entire side scan sonar system.(3)According to the previously designed side scan sonar signal processing system,this thesis set up the whole system for debugging and experiments.Firstly,the data transmission module test is completed to verify the data reading and storage functions of the multi-core heterogeneous computing platform.Then this thesis simulates the sonar echo data to verify the signal processing algorithm,and the experimental results show that the data can be processed quickly.Finally,the whole system is jointly adjusted in the water tank and the pool,and the transmission signal,the reception synchronization signal and the overall system work flow are verified.
