Architects at home and abroad have been studying architectural vision theory for a long time,including the feng shui situation of Laozi,the D/H theory of Camillo Sitte and Awara Yoshi,and the architectural field theory of Xue Qiuli,Xiong Ming's architectural vision field theory,etc.,while the architectural vision theory is constantly being verified by science,its related theoretical framework is also being continuously refined.Based on the theoretical research and theoretical framework of previous people,this paper develops the concept of architectural visual closure and applies it to the study of street places.As the most important external space in the city,the street has always been the object of study by architects.After clarifying the relationship between the street and the city,the discussion of the relationship between the street and the pedestrian has gradually become the focus of research.It is the purpose of research to shape the "people-oriented" street place.Architects at home and abroad have already had a certain depth in the discussion of street places.This study combines the human visual physiology and optical principles on the basis of predecessors' theory,and creates a quantitative algorithm using parametric software platform that can quantify street place and street interfaces.And then,this study obtain quantified numerical value of visuale through the quantitative algorithm,by using statistical tools and multiple virtual models propose the concept of visual closure coefficient of variation.Through analyzing the selected section of Shandong Road to Heping Road of Tianjin and the selected section of the ground floor of Hang Lung Plaza to verify the feasibility of the quantitative algorithm and to evaluate the existing example of street place.This research further develops the theory of architectural vision field and deepens its theoretical framework.It also provides a scientific evaluation method for the planning,construction and renovation of street space while enriching the research theory of street space.
