Ballistic missiles developed rapidly after the second world war, which is an important strategic weapon in modern wars and has played a great role in many local wars. With the continuous application of missiles in the world, the early warning system for missile has also been researched and developed.Ballistic missiles have a long range, high accuracy and great power. As the main detection equipment in ballistic missile early warning, radar cannot track the whole range of missiles with a limited detection range of a single radar. Therefore, multiple radars are needed to jointly search and track missiles. In this paper, according to the actual project requirements.the key technical problems in multi-radar tracking ballistic missiles are deeply studied, including missile and radar model building, trajectory prediction and radar handover time prediction algorithm, trajectory error propagation analysis and radar search area determination, software system design based on C#.The main work includes:1.According to the dynamic characteristics of ballistic missiles and the principle of radar detection target, the dynamic model of the missile and the detection model of ground-based radar were built in sections, the flight data of the missile and the radar observation data are obtained by the simulation experiment, which lays a foundation for the follow-up research.2.Based on the force analysis of the missile during the free section flight, the trajectory prediction algorithm based on Enke method is improved on the basis of the traditional trajectory prediction method.Firstly, the prediction algorithm establishes a reference orbit according to the two-body motion principle,Secondly, the perturbation differential equation is established and the perturbation deviation is solved. Finally, the state value at the predicted time is obtained by adding the reference orbit and the perturbation deviation. In the case that the detection ranges of the two radars do not overlap, the calculation process of radar handover time based on Enke method is analyzed. The simulation results show that compared with the traditional method,Enke method can reduce the computation time with higher prediction accuracy.3.In order to solve the nonlinear problems such as error propagation in the prediction and handover, the unscented transform method is applied to solve radar search problem.Firstly, the covariance of the state value of the missile at the time of handover is obtained by the unscented transform, and then the search area of the radar on the target is determined. Then, according to the parameters of radar, the number of scanning beam and the target detection time are determined. The simulation results show that the unscented transform method is simple and can deal with the nonlinear problem quickly and effectively.4.A visual software system of ballistic missile radar forecast and handover is designed and developed. This software system is developed with C# language as the main body.By the powerful 2d and 3d visualization component of STK(Satellite Tool Kit)software, the whole state of the missile flight process and the process of radar detection are displayed dynamically and intuitively. The system is simple to operate, can observe and operate the whole scene process from different visual angles, and has the capability of analyzing the missile motion state and radar detection data, which is convenient for researchers to use.
