As one of the most effective engineering measures to improve the traffic safety of the continuous long and downhill sections of mountain roads in China,truck escape ramp has been widely used.When studying the truck escape ramp,the most important problem is to study the driving stability of the transition section of the truck escape ramp,because first of all,it is necessary to ensure that runaway vehicles can safely diverge from the main line into the truck escape ramp for emergency braking on the arrester bed.However,when the runaway vehicle drives into the arrester bed,the most direct problem is to calculate the stopping distance of the runaway vehicle.Therefore,this paper focuses on the study on the driving stability and braking bed stopping distance of runaway vehicles in the truck escape ramp.Firstly,the paper studies the driving stability of the runaway vehicle in the transition section of the truck escape ramp.A trucksim-based model of a runaway vehicle based on Dongfeng Balong heavy lorry was built,and the influence of vehicle-related factors and road-related factors on the driving stability of runaway vehicles in transition section was analyzed through simulation experiments.Secondly,the paper studies the stopping distance of the arrester bed in the truck escape ramp.On the basis of the vehicle driving equation,the aggregate characteristics of the arrester bed in the safe laneincrease the pushing resistance and compaction resistance,and the air lift is increased based on the altitude of the mountain road,and the vehicle driving equation is improved.A calculation model of the stopping distance of the runaway vehicle driving into the mountain highway truck escape ramp is built,and the accuracy of the calculation model is verified.The influence of different factors on the vehicle stopping distance is analyzed through simulation experiment.Finally,the paper evaluates the safety of the truck escape ramp at the position of YK92+800 of Renchi expressway,finds the deficiency and puts forward some engineering suggestions.The research results of this paper will be of great theoretical significance and engineering application value for the improvement of the design specification of China’s truck escape ramp and the improvement of the safety level of China’s truck escape ramp.
