The equipment manufacturing industry is the foundation of the country. It is a symbol of the country's comprehensive strength. With the full deployment and gradual advancement of the “Made in China 2025” strategy, intelligent manufacturing and equipment featuring data and interconnection are accelerating transformation and upgrading. There is an increasing demand for on-line monitoring and control of rotating mechanisms, such as intelligent ship power monitoring, friction stir welding smart tool holders, drill pipes, and gearbox fault diagnosis. As the power transmission device,if the shaft speed is unstable or overloaded during the working process,it will affect the working performance of the equipment. In severe cases,it may cause a safety accident. Therefore,in intelligent equipment and machinery,real-time monitoring of key operating parameters such as shaft speed, deformation, torque(strain),force, and power is required. In this paper, ship shafting dynamic monitoring is taken as application background. The inductive coupled power transfer(ICPT)technology is applied to the monitoring of the working parameters of the metal shaft, and the transmission of electrical energy and signals in a non-contact manner is of great significance for online monitoring of rotating mechanisms. In this paper, based on the engineering application background of metal shaft, two different structures of ICPT system with side core and array coil are proposed. For the monitoring system of these two different inductive power supply structures, this paper carries out detailed theoretical analysis, structure and circuit design from two aspects of energy transmission and signal transmission. The side-mounted magnetic core ICPT system transmits energy by winding coils on the rotating shaft and the magnetic core, and transmits signals by means of reflection impedance modulation;the array coil type ICPT system receives energy by arranging array coils on the surface of the rotating shaft, and passes the magnetic field. The change induction method is used to extract the speed signal, and the signal transmission is realized by the radio frequency transceiver. In order to verify the actual performance of the two designed ICPT systems, inductive power supply experiments, signal transmission experiments and calibration test experiments were carried out under actual operating conditions or simulated environments of metal rotating shafts. The experimental results show that the test system can achieve the expected functions, basically meeting the design requirements and technical indicators.
