With the development of engineering informatization,BIM(Building Information Modeling)technology has been widely used in the engineering construction industry,and its applications in road engineering are also rapidly increasing.The essence of BIM technology is the integration and application of engineering life cycle data.Based on a practical project,this paper proposed a BIM standard system framework suitable for road engineering data,built a road engineering classification standards schema,and extended IFC property set for road engineering,trying to apply BIM technology to road engineering better.Firstly,we studied the connotation of road engineering life cycle,discussed the characteristics and requirements of road engineering construction based on the life cycle from the perspective of data,and analyzed the life cycle data requirement of BIM based road engineering with the consideration of the advantages of BIM technology.Secondly,we studied the existing BIM standards system framework and the development concept,analyzed the formation patterns of domestic and international standard systems,summarized the standards system construction methods,and proposed a BIM standards system framework applicable to road engineering with the consideration of practical projects.Then,we studied the principles and methods of road engineering information classification and coding,then analyzed the classification framework recommended by the international standards of construction engineering.Combining the existing classification coding standards and road engineering characteristics,we developed five classificatioin sheets of the road engineering based on Omni Class,including road components,road distress,road properties,road encities classified by form and road eneties classified by function.The classification codes were used in a project,from which the validity and value of the codes were proved.Finally,we studied the IFC standard and its framework,data description and extension mechanism.The engineering information of road engineering model was extended based on the IFC standard property set to realize the spatial query of road engineering information.The conclusion of this paper should have practical value for the application of BIM technology in road engineering in the future.
