BIM(Building Information Modeling)technology come into wide use in building design,construction and management nowadays.With the development of BIM,it began to be used in the protection of ancient buildings.Ancient architectural BIM models can easily be gained by using three dimensional scanner,which can greatly facilitate protection of ancient architecture,such as maintenance,repair,moving and copying.But in this context,BIM support software has no uniform standard,this led to the use of BIM standard project always have compatibility issues.In order to solve the compatibility issues,an open source BIM file format standard was established by IAI(The International Alliance for Interoperability),called the Industry Foundation classes(IFC).However,the file compatibility issues always exist among the the protection of ancient buildings,since many units of cultural relic protection had its own file standard and paltform,which means it's inconvenient to save,manage and present the architectures or the components.This article discussed three issues around the creation of Huizhou architecture components based on IFC:First,to generate BIM models of architecture components based on IFC by the three dimensional scanning and processing of point cloud data based on polygonal meshes.Thesis,establishment of Huizhou traditional building elements,for example,use this method to get the component model,and through the use of IFC technology resulting in support of IFC 2X3 standard file.Second,IFC file exchanging,to implement the IFC file conversion,so that IFC files can be converted to a more generic model file format,such as Wavefront OBJ format.Through such conversion,the file exchange can easily be done whether it is BIM software to BIM software or BIM software to non-BIM software.The achievement of this process can greatly expand the IFC files reusable in other platforms Finally,from the above results,a Web-based interactive three-dimension browsing of Huizhou architecture components was developed,which enables IFC files as the underlying file format possible for advanced applications,and provides a complete set of ideas and methods also.The article used the three dimensional lazer scanning to get the architecture component model information,by the use of polygon mesh method to process the cloud point data and IFC standard,generated the Huizhou architecture component model based on BIM,as well as to view the model through the web browser.All the study above was based on IFC standard and BIM technology,it provides an entire open source schema and process for the application of BIM in architecture and especially on the protection of ancient architecture.Through the process,the BIM engineers can focus on the application rather than solve the problem of file-sharing,which will provide great convenience for team collaboration.
