High-speed Rail Construction And Regional Industrial Structure Transformation And Upgrading

This paper takes the data of China's prefecture-level city high-speed rail opening data from 2000-2016 and the relevant economic data synthesis panel data of China's prefecture-level cities as samples.Based on the resource allocation perspective,using the DID method,and through theoretical and empirical analysis,the impact of high-speed rail construction on regional industrial structure transformation and upgrading is studied.In terms of theoretical analysis,this paper analyzes how the high-speed rail opening affects the regional industrial structure and analyzes the transmission mechanism based on the "economic radiation theory" of regional economics and the "core edge theory" of new economic geography.Based on this,the research is proposed.Assumption.In terms of empirical research,this paper uses the DID method to construct a multivariate regression model,and has carried out specific empirical studies on parallel trend test,benchmark regression analysis,heterogeneity test,robustness test and mechanism test.Finally,combined with theoretical analysis and empirical results,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)After the opening of the high-speed railway,the industrial structure can be promoted and rationalized;however,if the heterogeneity analysis is added,the high-speed railway is beneficial to the industrial structure upgrading in the eastern and central regions and has no obvious effect on the western region.At the same time,the opening of the high-speed railway is also beneficial to the provincial capitals and non-provincial capitals.Urban industrial structure upgrade.(2)After the opening of the high-speed railway,it can attract more capital and accelerate capital circulation to promote the upgrading of industrial structure.Based on the heterogeneity,the high-speed rail will have a significant positive impact on the capital circulation in the eastern and central regions.Bothcities and non-capital cities are not significant.(3)After the opening of the high-speed railway,it can promote the circulation of high-speed rail labor in the region,which in turn affects the upgrading of industrial structure in the region.After considering the regional heterogeneity,the high-speed rail will have labor circulation to the eastern,central and western regions,provincial capitals and non-provincial cities.Significant positive impact.Finally,based on the research results of this paper,we will provide suggestions for China's future high-speed rail construction and industrial upgrading.
