The automobile body takes into account functional design,performance design and styling design,bringing the innovation,the personalization and the high performance to the automobile.Body design is crucial in vehicle development.At present,the technology of China's automobile industry has been significantly improved,with the in-depth integration of body research with intelligence and technology,and the gradual breakthrough of independent research and development technology.Computer Aided Technology(CAX)is widely used in the body development process.In the automotive industry innovation,technological methods are more advanced,and products are increasingly more diversified and personalized.The main section design is the foundation of the body structure design.It determines the stiffness,strength,NVH and other performance of the body of the vehicle.It is crucial to the safety,comfort and reliability of the vehicle.Based on the design experience,the body engineer initially designs the main section based on the design experience.In the later stage,the structure and performance of the body and the vehicle need to be repeatedly modified during the process verification and performance verification.This paper focuses on the secondary development of computer-aided design software CATIA for the main section of the body column a.based on VB language,it studies the rapid modeling method and integrates the finite element analysis in the later stage of the design into the structural design process to effectively evaluate the section.Specific research contents include:This paper firstly analyzes the development progress of CAD software,grasps the existing development methods,studies and analyzes the secondary development method of CATIA,selects the development method of Automation API,and uses VB as the development language to access CATIA internal objects through COM interface to implement the call of CATIA command.Next,the internal interface and API functions of CATIA are described,and the research and development principles are described.Then,taking the body A column section as the research object,the control elements and structural characteristics of the section design are interpreted in detail,and the geometric and dimensional constraints of the control section structure are analyzed and extracted.With the body styling surface as the input condition,the VB language is used to obtain the Selection object.The shape surface of the intercepted section is selected through human-computer interaction.Studying the parametric design theory and method,manual modeling and program modeling are combined to realize parameter driven automatic modeling.For the created section model,the SPAWorkbench object and Inertia object were obtained according to the Working with Space Analysis Object in the Application model tree to measure the section area,material thickness area,center of mass,and moment of inertia of the section.At the same time,based on the cross-section program modeling,a partial solid model of the A-pillar was generated,and CATIA's finite element analysis function was called through the interface to calculate and calculate the stress and displacement of the structure.The function of rapid parameter modeling,measurement and finite element analysis is developed.Then for the control elements,geometric constraints,dimensional constraints,measurement parameters,finite element solution results and other data of the section,VB's ADO data control is used to access the Access database to establish a section database,and to store the section parameter information.Finally,the system is released by selecting the common application installation for all users.In addition,the applicability and stability of the system are verified with an example of a body modeling surface,and the section is effectively evaluated in combination with the database record set.
