In recent years,with the development of power electronic technology,power technology of wind energy and other renewable energy develop rapidly.Wind power has become one of the important project in 13thh Five-Year Plan.Considering that wind power system with power electronics is nonlinear dynamics and discrete time system and the output has random variability.So stability analysis of power systems in account of wind power will face new technology challenges.In order to guarantee the reliability of operation for gird with wind power highly involving,it is need to study on the output characteristics and scientific modeling.For follow the tendency,PSS/E which is a power system analysis software widely used in China offer kinds of Wind power transient model for power system analysis.But current study and application is focus on the 1st generation models and the study and empirical analysis of new generation,which is 2nd generation models,is lack.That hindered the further develop of planning for power system with wind power involve and influence the process that model database adopts wind power model.This paper overviewed the PSS/E wind power models and discussed the key details and attentions of static models for power flow calculation.According to the comparison of two generation transient wind power models paper explained the mathematical description for physical structure,key details,working mechanisms and indicated the advantage of 2ndd generation model.Paper offered the equivalent aggregation method for PSS/E wind power static and transient models.With the time-domain simulation of 2nd generation paper discuss the influence of key parameters to electromechanical transient,presented the general modeling method for PSS/E wind power models and offered the summary of parameter characteristics and reference values.According to the operation of actual wind farms,paper verified the correctness of equivalent aggregation principle and give the supplement for existing LVRT parts.With the comparison with BPA simulation results and outputs characteristics of actual wind turbines,paper verified the practicability of PSS/E 2nd model.Finally paper indicated a solution of power flow calculation about random fluctuation of wind power.The work that this paper studied on the theory and application of PSS/E new generation wind power models,will help enhance the ability of stability analysis of power systems involved wind power and and improve the modeling of wind power.
