Abstract/Summary:
The riparian zone is the ecotone between terrestrial ecosystem and aquatic ecosystem,with severe erosion of river water,frequent flow and exchange of material,energy and information,and obvious edge effect.A healthy riparian ecosystem has the functions of regulating runoff,conserving water,regulating microclimate,controlling water pollution,and providing habitat and breeding places for aquatic organisms.In recent years,with the increasing investment in infrastructure construction,the investment in water conservancy infrastructure has increased year by year.With the implementation of a series of river and lake improvement projects,the ecological problems caused by changing the natural flow pattern,channelization and bleaching of river courses have become increasingly prominent.A series of problems such as disturbed natural distribution of regional water resources,lack of water or cut-off of river channels,reduction of aquatic organisms,reduction of self-purification capacity of water bodies,degradation of wetlands and degradation of water quality gradually emerged,seriously endangering the sustainable development of regional economy and society.As a kind of important river and lake regulation project,bank revetment project is mainly an engineering measure to prevent river bank slope from being eroded and unstable.In the past,when designing bank revetment,emphasis was placed on flood control and safety,masonry,concrete or reinforced concrete were usually used to reinforce the bank line.The biggest advantage of this kind of hard revetment is its strong anti-scouring ability,firmness and durability,but it cuts off the exchange of material and energy between the aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems,resulting in the whole revetment becoming a closed system,destroying the living environment of animals and plants,and at the same time making the riparian zone lose its ecological function and water self-purification ability.Under such circumstances,it is very important to realize the harmonious coexistence between people and water,and make water conservancy projects serve the healthy maintenance and restoration ofthe ecosystem while pursuing benefits and avoiding harms.Ecological revetment projects have emerged as the times require.In this paper,the application of ecological revetment technology for small and medium-sized rivers in central and eastern Gansu is studied,and the ecological revetment structure which is suitable for the popularization of engineering technology in the region and can meet various physical and mechanical properties and biological environmental properties is studied,and geosynthetics are reasonably selected.We have initially explored a feasible plan that can basically conform to the ecological revetment in most areas of Gansu Province,and promoted the rapid development of the application and construction of ecological revetment in this area.
