The Extended-Range Electric Vehicle(E-REV)is a provisional solution for conventional vehicles to electric vehicles,because of its long driving range,wonderful performance on dynamic and economy.Besides,it has relatively simple powertrain structure which gets rid of complex dynamic coupling device.All the above make extended-range electric vehicle especially suitable for the urban traffic system.This paper takes Extended-Range Electric Bus as the research object,according to the operation mode of E-REV and working characteristics of auxiliary power system APU,on the basis of main parameters of prototype vehicle as well as typical working condition of China’s urban bus,the critical components of APU and power battery are calculated and matched.According to the functional requirements of the APU,this paper completed the communication and coordination design of APU,CAN bus is used between various controllers.In this paper,APU controller,ECU of generator and battery management system are arranged in the same the CAN network.Besides,according to the communication protocol,the upper computer is designed by NI LabVIEW.Based on the CDCS control strategy of E-REV,two kinds of energy management of extended-range electric bus are proposed and modeled in Simulink/Stateflow.The vehicle model was established by AVL-Cruise according to the results of calculation and matching as well as the parameters of prototype vehicle.The effectiveness of the two kinds of energy management strategy is proven by co-simulation of AVL-Cruise and MATLAB/Simulink.To verify the rationality of control strategy and matching of the APU system as well as the design of communication coordination,the experiment bench is constructed.The experiment bench,divided into three parts,mainly includes the displaying part,the APU part and the battery part.The normal function of upper computer is validated through conventional rehabilitation and the power control experiment,and the APU shows a good performance.
