Compared with the main generators of conventional diesel locomotives,the main and auxiliary generators of high-power AC diesel locomotives have complex structures and are imported or technology-transferred domestically produced motors.The overhaul process of the main and auxiliary generators of this type of locomotive is equivalent to starting from scratch.Moreover,the repair according to the technical state for the motor,and there is no overhaul process that can be referenced or translated.Therefore,the overhaul process of this type of motor needs systematic research and improvement.In this paper,through the research on the theoretical knowledge of the principle,structure and overhaul process of AC motor,combined with the rotor overhaul process of the main and auxiliary generators of high-power AC locomotive,from the three aspects of rotor-to-ground insulation failure,rotor open-circuit fault and rotor short-circuit fault,which are analyzed and researched,and improvement measures are developed.Improve the insulation performance of the rotor to the ground by analyzing the environmental humidity,cleanliness and immersion paint process;study the insulation properties of the banding material to select suitable materials,analyze the binding position and method of the binding ring to strengthen the binding strength,and improve the process effect of the rotor binding ring transformation;According to the size and material of the slip ring and the shaft,the theoretical calculation of the heating temperature of the slip ring is carried out to confirm the key factors affecting the assembly of the slip ring,that is,the relative expansion of the slip ring is large enough,and maintain both the slip ring and the shaft seat in the center line when the slip ring is assembled.The temperature difference between the shaft head and the slip ring is enlarged by increasing the liquid nitrogen cooling shaft head,the new fixture is designed and manufactured,and the process scheme of the slip ring assembly is improved.After the improvement of the rotor overhaul process,the internal and external verification of the company has reduce the failure rate of the main and auxiliary generator rotors,and has obtained extensive overhaul experience,and has improved overhaul process.At the same time,the overhaul cost was saved and good economic benefits were obtained.
