Due to high rotational speed,no auxiliary equipment,high temperature resistance,simple structure,great reliability and maintenance-free,gas foil bearings are widely used in high-speed turbomachinery,such as micro gas turbines,fuel cell air compressors,aircraft air circulation machines and so on.Because of the lack of experimental research on gas foil bearing under high speed and heavy load,the relevant theoretical models can not be corrected more accurately.Therefore,this paper designs and sets up a test rig which can apply a force of 1000 N to the gas foil journal bearing and a test rig which can apply a force of 1000 N to the gas foil thrust bearing.Several gas foil journal bearings and gas foil thrust bearings were conducted lift-off tests,loading experiments and life tests.The research contents of this paper are the core sub-project of the key leading technology in 100 KW micro gas turbine(17DZ1201000),which set up by Shanghai municipal commission of science and technology.The main research contents and achievements are as follows:A journal test rig which can apply a force of 1000 N to gas foil journal bearings was designed and manufactured.The rotor dynamics analysis was carried out to obtain the critical speed and logarithmic decay rate of the test rig.According to different experimental requirements,the cylinder loading scheme and the weight loading scheme were designed.Built a test system to collect experimental data.A three-pad single-wave foil gas foil journal bearing was conducted lift-off tests,loading experiments and life tests.The relationship between preload and bearing's lift-off speed,lift-off torque,and the relationship between speed and bearing's capacity were obtained.Under the condition of 120 N,the bearing finished 5000 times life tests.Completed the 1000 N loading experiment,the test rig was set up successfully.A thrust test rig which can apply a force of 1000 N to gas foil thrust bearings was designed and manufactured.The rotor dynamics analysis of the test rig was carried out to judge the feasibility of the design,by XLrotor software.In order to test different sizes of gas foil thrust bearings,the thrust plate was designed to be replaceable.Built a test system and collected experimental data.The lift-off tests and loading experiments of a six-pad single-wave foil gas foil thrust bearing was finished.The capacity of the bearing at 30000 r/min is 720 N,andthe capacity of the bearing at 40000 r/min is more than 800 N.Completed the 1000 N loading experiment,the test rig was set up successfully.
