Safety siding is a track used to ensure the safety of train operating.It too short cannot guarantee the safety of train operation,and too long will increase construction cost and design difficulty.In particular,when it has been connected to the end of the turn-back track affecting the length of the turn-back track,it could affect the turn-back capability in turn.Therefore,setting a reasonable length of the safety siding can effectively save construction costs,ensure the safe operation of the train,and improve the operation efficiency.The existing design standard of Commuter Rail requires that the length of the setting safety siding is not less than 50 m.There are differences in the setting of the length of the safety siding for different tracks.It is more reasonable to set the safety siding in combination with different train operation scenarios and station,which can effectively fill the technical gap in the design of the safety siding.This article relies on the Guangzhou Metro Design Institute’s project which named "Research and Application of Station Safety Siding Length under the commuter rail by Sprinter and Express Train Operation Organization".Combined with the characteristics of the commuter rail,and studied safety siding length and the turn-back capacity calculation on commuter rail.The theoretical part of the research includes:(1)Research on the calculation method of the braking distance in the CBTC mode based on the IEEE1474.1 safe braking model,analyze the process of the braking process,and establish the safety based on the safe braking distance in different situations for calculation model of the length of safety siding;(2)Research based on the calculation method of turn-back capability,analyze the influence of the length of the safety siding on the turn-back process before and after the station,and establish the relationship between safety siding and turn-back capability;(3)Put forward the verification of simulation results methods.The theoretical analysis of the safety siding and the turn-back capability provides a sufficient theoretical basis for the construction of the subsequent simulation system and the design of functional modules.Based on the conclusion of the theoretical part,the detailed overall requirements and business requirements of the simulation system are designed.The overall structure and work flow of the simulation system are designed according to the algorithm of the theoretical part.The working principle of the simulation is introduced.The database system and the simulation-related function modules have been designed in detail,and the implementation methods of the corresponding algorithms are described.Based on the Visual Studio 2013,using the C ++ programming language to realize the functions and interface of the system,including the main interface design under the MFC framework,the module form design,and programming to achieve the safety siding and turn-back capability calculation algorithm;The technology realizes the joint development of the simulation system and the Access database to uniformly manage various static basic data.At the same time,the file streaming technology and the graphics technology of the Active X control class are used to realize the file storage of the simulation data and the functions of curve drawing and picture output.Taking the typical stations on the Fuzhou-Changle Airport Line-Fuzhou Railway Station and Dahe Station as examples,we studied under different operating scenarios,using train equipment from different manufacturers,and different vehicle groups to calculate and output the length of the optimal safety siding result according to the safety siding calculation model,and calculate the turn-back capability of the station when set the optimal length.The results show that under different scenarios and train parameter configurations,the optimal length of the safety siding is also different.Then it verifies the relationship between the safety siding and the turn-back capability through the calculation of turn-back capability.At the same time,it is proved that the simulation system can meet the demand for simulation design of the safety siding and the calculation of the turn-back capability under different scenarios,and the calculation result is reliable,and has good engineering application value.There are 58 figures,22 tables and 68 references in the paper.
