In order to achieve the applicability of the buildings and the traffic accessibility to the locality,scholars have carried out extensive research on the snowdrifts around buildings.The research object of previous papers,however,is usually a single special building model with complex shape,thus the research results are not universal.At the same time,the research conclusions are mainly to describe the phenomenon of uneven distribution and lack of demonstration on the mechanism of snowdrifting.Aiming at the modular cube model,this paper studies the general rule of snowdrift pattern around the cubes and the basic mechanism of snowdrift pattern formation.The contents of snowdrift pattern around the cubes mainly include the spatial distribution of snowdrift,the major erosion area,the extreme value and its position of the normalized snow depth and other key elements.The main contents are as follows:Firstly,WSCL of Harbin Institute of Technology was used to carry out the windsnow combination experiments,and the snowdrift pattern around the two cubes under the influence of wind direction,wind speed and cube spacing was studied.Based on the theory of wind-snow flow around a single cube,the main mechanism of uneven distribution of snowdrift around two adjacent cubes was analyzed.Due to the complex variation of the snowdrift pattern in the middle-snowdrift between two cubes with the change of the cube distance,a "Isolation-coupling" relationship,based on the similarity between the snowdrift pattern around two cubes and that around a single cube,was proposed,measuring the joint influence degree of the two cubes on the middle-snowdrift.Based on the numerical simulation method of Eulerian multiphase flow model,the "Isolation-coupling" model is refined,which reveals the relevance between the middle-snowdrift affected by the combination of the two cubes and the lateral wind-snow flow around the single cube,as well as the relationship between the degree of the middle-snowdrift affected by the combination of the two cubes and the model spacing.Finally,the numerical simulation method is used to simulate the surrounding snowdrift pattern of the two typical multi-cube arrays,counterpoint array and stagger array,and the changes of the two arrays due to the different number of elements,as well as the similarities and differences of the snowdrift pattern between this two arrays,are analyzed.
