In recent decades,with the improvement of the national economic output,significantly speed up the industrialization process of the society.The overhead transmission lines have a series of defects,such as large floor area,high requirements for safe distance of discharge,which are difficult to meet the actual requirements.Underground power cable has become the first choice of urban transmission and distribution network.Due to the excellent electrical insulation and mechanical properties of XLPE cables,its have become the preferred high voltage cable.However,its long-term operation under the complex underground conditions,the power cable intermediate joints and other accessories will be gradually aging due to the combined effects of electricity,heat,mechanical stress,etc.,the insulation performance will be deteriorating,resulting in partial discharge,and the power supply reliability of the power system will be reduced The accurate detection of partial discharge before the occurrence of fault and timely preventive measures can effectively avoid the occurrence of fault and power failure,so the measurement method of partial discharge is an important part to ensure the stability of power system.This paper mainly studies the partial discharge detection method of XLPE cable intermediate joints and terminal streets.First,researched the mechanism and environment of partial discharge generation the acquisition methods of partial discharge signal are compared and analyzed,and different collector frequency bands are adopted for cables running in different environments Then complete the line partial discharge collector design,construction and installation scheme.Furthermore,the oscillation wave and PSCAD software are used to simulate the partial discharge model of the cable,and the experimental data are analyzed.By comparing the simulation data with the actual data collected by the collector,the change of the voltage value on the outer sheath of the cable during the partial discharge is determined,so as tojudge the discharge phase sequence and determine the discharge point according to the discharge signal collected by the collector.It is verified that the method of partial discharge is feasible by judging the change of outer sheath voltage.
