"Those who are buried hide.He who hides also wants to see the best of men.This passage in the Book of Rites explains to us one of the essential features of the development of Chinese tombs---Tibet,where a tomb is usually divided into two separate space and building units,namely,above-ground and underground.The ancients created a splendid and mysterious underground world for us with their cosmological,life-and-death views and philosophical ideas.Nowadays,with the reform of traditional funeral customs,the continuous development of modern funeral service and the influence of western cemetery design,a large number of urban cemeteries have emerged.Most of them are located in the suburbs of the city or the surrounding mountains,occupying a large amount of land.The speed of urbanization makes the urban land problem more and more serious,and the expansion of funeral land will not stop,which will bring obstacles to the development of modern land,first of all,the contradiction between funeral land and urban land resources should be solved.The thesis takes the chinese city cemetery as the research object,from the traditional and modern burial space shape,the cultural idea,the funeral way and so on,through collecting the related literature and the typical case,uses the literature research method,the field investigation method,the chart analysis method,comprehensive architecture,the folklore,the geomantic science,the psychology,the landscape science and so on related theory and the research method carries on the research.Exploring the possibility of underground development of burial space in the new era.The article is divided into four parts,starting with the evolution of chinese ancient and modern funeral culture concept and funeral mode,systematically combing,grasping the transformation of chinese feng shui,funeral culture,propriety system and thought,and analyzing and drawing lessons from foreign excellent cemetery design cases to provide ideological support for the subsequent underground burial space planning.Secondly,we will investigate the typical ancient underground burial space,modern underground cemetery and aboveground city,start from the overall space layout,the surrounding environment relations,the supporting facilities and so on,through the analysis of the history and the similar case comparison,make clear the following planning and design need attention and the key points;then,summarize the existing problems of the city cemetery in our country from the aspects of function layout,design techniques,national laws and regulations,put forward the significance and advantages of the construction of underground cemetery,and put forward the feasible proposal of the underground cemetery planning and design,the development and utilization mode.Finally,fromthree-dimensional space layout,functional facilities planning,above-ground underground landscape design,interior design and other aspects of detailed discussion,to initially form a set of macro-to-micro underground burial space planning and design methods.broaden the research perspective of modern public cemetery,and provide a new idea for the future cemetery design to promote the sustainable development of the city.
