In recent years,the frequent serious traffic accidents caused by Tractor-Semitrailer and that have raised the attention to the braking safety performance by publics.The technical development of domestic semi-trailer brake control system is backward,especially braking response time cannot meet the laws and regulations requirements,which causes new product announcements can not be declared,and there are also some security risks of the existing products.Recently,the research on braking response time is not mature in domestic semi-trailer manufacturersThe Paper was based on the theories of semi-trailer regulations,utilized the on-site testing method and requirements of Xiangyang inspection center,built the testing device of semi-trailer braking response time,to test and research how the brake components like ABS/Spring Brake Release Valve/Air Tank/Air Chamber impact the braking response time.The result showed that when the air inlet of the ABS ECU valve is changed from one hole to two holes,and the input and output pressure ratio of relay valve can adjust according to the payload are the key factor which affects the braking response time.Besides,we have carried on the test of the semi-trailer energy storage device(Air Tank),the result showed that the two Air Tanks of the three axle semi-trailer can completely meet the requirements of the laws and regulations to the energy storage device,and it can reduce one Air Tank.The test device fills the blank that the domestic semi-trailer manufacturing enterprises are unable to test the braking response time independentlyIn addition,optimized the installation site of the Air Tank chamber and improve the piping layout and the model selection design of brake control system.And then tested the semi-trailer braking response time to meet the laws and regulations requirements.Finally,the semi-trailer after design optimization and the tractor were form into the Tractor-Semitrailer.We also invited professional agencies to test the brake control system of the Tractor-Semitrailer,the result showed that the braking lag time can meet the laws and regulations requirements.And the optimization design method and result can also improve the braking coordination and securityWith the building and researching of the braking response time testing device and technology of semi-trailer,we mastered the key craftwork of testing and got rid of the passive situation of relying on foreign system suppliers,also,a self-made device has a good industrial prospects.By optimizing the technical parameters,we not only solved the problem of the new product declaration notice,released the braking safety risk of the existing semi-trailer,but also saved the cost of products,enhanced the competitiveness of products.
