To solve the problem that a hospital did not meet the requirements after story-adding in traditional ways,this paper made numerical analysis by using Yingjianke and ETABS,including the design of story-adding,the arrangement and parameter determination of the damper or isolator,the contrast of seismic response and reinforcement of the original structure.In the end,the paper summarized the advantages and disadvantages of different story-adding reconstruction by applying different damping or isolation.The mainly research works are followings.The paper made traditional designs of story-adding,and summarized: the structure by adding reinforced concrete frame satisfied the limit of floor displacement,but the heavy weight of the adding stories made serious reinforcement of the original structure;the structure by adding steel frame was not satisfied the limit of floor displacement,with less reinforcement of the original structure compared with the former;the structure by adding jacket concrete frame was not satisfied the limit of floor displacement,with no reinforcement of the original structure.Therefore,it is necessary to apply damping or isolation in the story-adding reconstruction of the existing buildings.Adding reinforced concrete frame with applying isolation to solve the problem of serious reinforcement of the original structure.As a result,it reduced the reaction of earthquake by the isolation.However,the isolation could not reduce the vertical load adding.In general,adding reinforced concrete frame with applying isolation made more bad effect on the original structure than adding concrete stories in traditional way,which brought more reinforcement.Adding steel frame with applying two kinds of dampers to satisfie the limit offloor displacement.As a result,both kinds of damping devices effectively reduce the displacement of the steel frame to meet the limit with the same reinforcement of the original structure as before.Compared to the viscous damper,the buckling-restrained brace increased more story force of the structure and made more negative effect on the original structure,which means that the performance of viscous damper is beetter.Adding jacket concrete frame with applying two kinds of dampers to satisfie the limit of floor displacement.As a result,both kinds of damping devices effectively reduced the relative displacement between the external frame and the original structure,so that the displacement of layers could be satisfied.And there were no reinforcement of the original structure and colliding.The viscous dampers could be more effectively improve the displacement of layers than the buckling-restrained brace,which means that the performance of viscous damper is beetter.In conclusion,adding jacket concrete frame with viscous damper can meet the requirements better.
