As an important water infrastructure in China,the reservoir plays an important role in flood control,irrigation,water supply,power generation,and ecological environment,etc.It can decrease the damage of the flood disaster and guarantee the safety of water supply to maintain the sustainable development of society and the economy.According to the statistics of Reservoir dam-break from 1954 to 2006,there are more than 3498 reservoir-break accidents in China since 1949,of which 3365 are small reservoirs,accounting for 96.2% of the total.Therefore,the small-scale reservoir has become the weakest link of the Water Resources Security and flood control engineering system in our country.Taking Majiagou Reservoir in Donggang city,Liaoning province as an example,this paper aims to solve a series of key technical problems of small reservoirs.The findings provide a scientific basis for flood control decision-making in Liaoning province and play a great significance to ensure the safety of people’s lives and property.The main research contents and achievements of this paper are as follows:(1)Study on the calculation of water-level reservoir capacity curve and the recheck of the eigenvalues.The measurement parameters and technical scheme are determined firstly.The water level-reservoir capacity curve,the maximum discharge that causing dam-break,and the recheck of eigenvalues and dam crest elevation are obtained for the Majiagou reservoir.(2)Study on the flood prevention forecasting technology for small-size reservoirs.This paper elaborates the flood routing methods and flood process prediction methods suitable for small-sized reservoirs and proposes the flood forecast method for small-sized reservoirs.Based on that,the comprehensive flood forecast map of reservoirs is made and the actual flood control capacity is calculated for the Majiagou reservoir.(3)Study on the technology of group monitoring and group prevention system for small-size reservoirs.The discharge that causes dam-break is calculated,the dangerous regions and the hazard level are identified.Based on this,a group monitoring and group prevention system for small-size reservoirs is established.
