In order to ensure the sufficient submergence depth of the hull and adjust the floating state of the hull,ballast water should be added.Ships load ballast water in the starting sea area and discharge it in the ending sea area.The organisms carried in the water are easy to destroy the ecological balance of the local sea area and form biological invasion.A lot of explorations have been made in the world,but there are not ballast free ships yet because of various reasons.In this paper,a step-by-step design method of non ballast water vessel is proposed,which can effectively control the floating state and stability under various loading conditions,and realize the complete design of non ballast water.This paper takes a 50000 DWT oil tanker as a mother ship transformed into a ballast free water carrier with the same load as an example,introduces the principle of the step-by-step design method in this paper,designs the profile step by step,gives the specific design process,and systematically expounds the design method.This paper first introduces the general idea of the design scheme of the ballastless water carrier based on the step-by-step design method,and describes the principle of the transformation of the hull line by adopting the method of this paper,as well as the differences between the methods adopted in this paper and those of the predecessors.Then,taking a 50000 DWT oil tanker as the mother ship,the paper introduces the design process of 50000 DWT Ballastless water carrier in detail,gives the detailed design steps,and designs the subdivision arrangement of the new design ship.Finally,a comprehensive performance check is made to ensure that the tank capacity,floating state,stability,navigation resistance and other aspects can meet the requirements.In this paper,FreeShip software is used to model the hull of the design ship,and the software is used to check the performance of the cabin capacity,floating state,stability,navigation resistance,etc.The results of the verification meet the requirements of the code and design,which proves the feasibility and effectiveness of the method.
