Galloping is one of the important factors leading to unplanned outage of overhead transmission lines,which threatens the safe operation of transmission lines and is very necessary for galloping monitoring of overhead transmission lines.In this paper,the cable monitoring technology based on Stokes parameters is proposed,which uses the optical fiber composite overhead ground wire(OPGW)which has been built in the overhead transmission line as the sensing and transmission object.Through the real-time detection of the Stokes parameters in the optical fiber,the polarization state change of the light is obtained,and the vibration information of the cable is obtained,so as to realize the online monitoring of the cable vibration.We have tested it in the laboratory and on the actual line,and the results show that the technology is feasible.In this paper,OPGW cable is used as sensor and transmission line,compared with traditional electrical sensor,it is unnecessary to install sensors along the road and consider data transmission.This study proposes a cable vibration monitoring technology with strong anti electromagnetic interference ability,long service life,easy maintenance and low cost,which provides a new idea for transmission line detection technology.
