As domestic car sale volume is going up year by year,the anti-theft DAS system has been upgraded accordingly.The traditional mechanical column lock is used with low anti-theft performance,however it can't be used in highly information integrated DAS system any more.The Electronic steering column lock which can solves these defects mentioned above is the integration of the electronic control and mechanical transmission structure,exactly a typical electromechanical product.This paper would investigate the current development status and main problems at home and abroad basely,mainly study the electronic steering column lock from the mechanical perspective according to the product specification and function.Firstly special structure design is created with CATIA software which is often used in Auto industry,and the strength calculation is done theoretically as per the working condition,including mechanic transmission,micro-motor type selection,miss-locking secure mechanism and locking mechanism between electronic steering column lock and steering column.Afterwards,the strength is simulated with professional software so that to ensure the reliable design,at the same time,this paper introduces some common manufacturing process and choose suitable one for relative parts.At last,one complete test system is built as per validation test requirement.Especially,the specific test fixture is designed mainly for strength validation and endurance test in order to optimize design step by step,through endurance test and strength test,design would be optimized continuously until it can meet product requirement.This paper shows that the designed Electronic steering column lock can meet standard specification,moreover,it concludes that the length of latch out of lock and the size of spline tooth are the two critical factors of strength based on analysis result;it means the strength of lock can be optimized based on these factors.The whole developing process from concept design,computer simulation,including test validation is studied in this paper,so it ensures the design can meet standard requirement with less developing time and less failure risk.In addition,it can provide theory analysis and instruction for practice.
