In recent years, road traffic accelerates the rapidly development of our socialist economy.Reinforced soil structure has been widely used in highway, railway and urban construction due to convenience, low cost and good aseismic performance. However, several reinforced soil structures were still damaged when subjected to strong earthquake, which not only brought huge economic losses, but also brought great challenges to rescue and relief. Therefore,it is necessary to further explore new reinforcement methods with better reinforcing effect in aseismic design. In this paper, several new reinforcement methods were adopted based on concrete canvas.Specific research content and results are as follows:(1)The dynamic response characteristics of the model slope under different reinforcement methods were studied by laboratory shaking table test. The test results show that compared with the traditional geotextile reinforcement, the concrete canvas and composite reinforcement could greatly reduce the deformation of the slope during a strong input motion. With increase of elevation, the reinforcing effect improves. When the reinforcing effect reaches a threshold level, the slide-out point shifts from the crest of the slope to the bottom of the reinforced zone.(2)To investigate the effect of different tilt degrees of reinforcement materials on the dynamic response of model slopes,a series of shaking table tests were conducted. With the increase in concrete-canvas tilt degrees, the deformation of slopes get smaller.Increasing the concrete-canvas tilt degree at the reinforced zone from 0° to 10° has little reducing effect on the deformation, whereas an increase from 10° to 20° yields a considerable reinforcing effect. However,an increase from 20° to 30° is most efficient for reducing the deformation of slopes and can dramatically increase strength of soil in the reinforced area.(3)A new 3-D honeycomb concrete-canvas reinforcement was adopted, and the effect of acid rain erosion was considered for the first time in this paper. The reinforcement can effectively reduce the deformation of saturated model even under stronger earthquake. However, the acid rain erosion accelerates the accumulation of pore water pressure, which possibly causes the sharp reduction in the strength of soil when the shaking time is sufficiently large.
