With the development of social economy and science and technology in China,the electric power industry has made rapid progress.In many scenarios,the power cable has gradually replaced the original overhead line.In order to ensure the safety and stability of power cable operation,it is necessary to minimize or even avoid the power supply system paralysis caused by the failure of power cable intermediate joints,and then reduce the negative impact caused by the power supply system paralysis.Therefore,it is very important to study the problem of fault analysis and detection of power cable intermediate joint,and fault analysis and detection of power cable intermediate joint is the necessary prerequisite to ensure the safe and stable operation of power cable transmission line.This paper first analyzes the development of the fault analysis and detection of the power cable intermediate joint at home and abroad.By using TRIZ theory to analyze and summarize the power cable intermediate joint,summarizes the various factors that cause the power cable intermediate joint fault,and analyzes them accordingly,and summarizes the corresponding preventive measures according to different fault types And the detection method can effectively improve the reliability of the cable operation system.Through the detailed comparison and analysis of the principle and application characteristics of various PD detection methods of power cable intermediate joint,the PD detection methods suitable for detecting the fault of power cable intermediate joint are found out,and a design concept of detection device based on tip discharge is proposed.On this basis,the partial discharge of the power cable intermediate joint is determined as the detection target to determine whether the power cable intermediate joint has fault.The first step of PD signal detection is to suppress the noise mixed in the detection signal.A processing method combining FFT and improved wavelet packet transform is proposed to remove the noise and restore the original signal.The experimental results show that the method is reliable and effective.The last step of signal detection is signal recognition.Through the extraction and recognition of the characteristics in the detected PD signal,through the extraction and recognition of wavelet packet transform,FCM algorithm,BP neural network algorithm,and finally the comparison and analysis of the recognition results,the detection of power cable intermediate joint fault can be effectively realized.
