The earthquake has brought huge damage and burden to the country and the people.Improving the seismic performance of the structure can reduce the seismic economic loss.At present,the development of relatively mature seismic isolation technology is considered to be one of the most effective methods to improve the seismic performance of structures,but its construction trading market is not prosperous.Only in buildings with large investment,high seismic performance requirements and special protection requirements will consider using seismic isolation technology.The reason is that real participants in the construction trading market,such as investors and owners,believe that the use of seismic isolation technology will greatly increase the investment cost,and their understanding of its economy is more one-sided,preventing the widespread application of seismic isolation technology.In order to make the seismic isolation technology more widely used,this paper takes the selfisolated dormitory building of Pengzhou Middle School as an example to analyze the economics of the self-isolated structure.Therefore,the economics of the self-isolated dormitory building are analyzed from the two aspects of the initial construction cost and the seismic economic loss,and compared with the traditional seismic design method(ie,nonisolated).The main content of the paper is as follows:(1)Introduce the theory and method of evaluating the structural damage classification and seismic economic loss from the overall structure level and component level based on structural displacement parameters,as the theoretical basis for the structural damage classification and seismic economic loss evaluation.(2)Calculate the initial construction cost when using different seismic design methods(ie,self-isolated dormitory building of Pengzhou Middle School,non-isolated dormitory building of Pengzhou Middle School)according to relevant specifications and standards,and compare the initial construction costs of different seismic design methods,and analyze what are the main reasons that cause the difference in initial construction costs.(3)Based on the structural displacement performance index,combined with the engineering overview and finite element model analysis,the two structural damage classification evaluation methods are combined to evaluate the damage classification of the self-isolated dormitory building of Pengzhou Middle School and the non-isolated dormitory building of Pengzhou Middle School under different magnitudes earthquakes are used as the basis for assessing the seismic economic losses of building structures.(4)Based on the structural damage classification,the two structural seismic economic loss assessment methods are combined to evaluate the seismic economic losses of the self-isolated dormitory building of Pengzhou Middle School and the non-isolated dormitory building of Pengzhou Middle School under different magnitudes earthquakes,and analyze what are the main reasons that cause the difference in seismic economic losses.
